I have this too, from the beginning, you can enable satellite view on the cluster too.

Hmmm maybe that’s where I got it wrong? Didn’t know satellites view used Google, I’ll chase this up.

I think all maps in all Taycan model years are from google, only the satellite view seems to be branded.

Hasn't this has been available since day 1 - press the wheel and select satellite maps as the display layer.

I don’t have it on my car. Does anyone in the US have it? Do you guys know if it’s only available without chrono package?

Just a guess, can it be part of the sports chrono package? With the knob on the steering wheel by default I can imagine Porsche added a bonus feature in the package to make it attractive.

In switzerland, my dealer told me that there is no update campaign, and they won't do it without campaign as it is hours of work, which would be unpaid if Porsche Central doesn't pay via a update campaign.

He has stated that the update will work just fine however.

Source? Google is often used for satellite view but i doubt Porsche uses Google for their map data. My bet is it's also HERE but can't find any details about it.

Just look at pcm when in satellite view, you’ll see the copyright statement from Google and its logo.

That's because the sattelite images are from Google but that's not the map data. Alot of brands use Google sattelite images but have an other map data provider.

In the past (this thread) I've found navigation errors shared between the PCM's navigation and Here Map. Fixing them on the HereMap Creator site usually fixed them in the PCM too after a few months.
Not surprising, given the VW/Audi group owns parts of Here Technologies.

The German Wikipedia page about Here lists Porsche in the customners.

Satellite Map view is only available if you subscribe to Porsche Connect Services. So stupid..
