Not sure if I want to be in the 1st wave of a Porsche software roll-out or not! Would love the fix, however (or a new battery preferably).

Mine going in for its 60 day check up next week. Be nice if it was the last one, but suspect the dealer won’t know what I’m on about if I ask about this software release. They’re part of Porsche as well, but generally seem pretty disinterested in anything Taycan related.

what dealership is that? don't you have any other options? tbh I'd be more than a little annoyed with an attitude like that from my dealer and if I had zero other choice of alternatives, would be writing a stern letter to Porsche themselves

After seeing this discussion, I just checked my Taycan 4S Cross Turismo. There are no updates available. I have a 2021 subject to the ARB7 recall with Porsche Connect.

My car was at the dealer two weeks ago. They said that they are still waiting for any information about the remedy for the recall. They did not know anything more than what was in the official recall letter.

On 07.07.2025 I got email from Porsche dealer in Croatia.

Translation:
"

Dear Sir or Madam,


We would like to inform you that an optimized software update is now available for monitoring the high-voltage battery in your Porsche Taycan. This update is required to be installed as part of recall ARB6.


Please find attached to this email a PDF document containing the official recall notice with important information. We would especially like to highlight the following points:

• Until the software described in the recall notice is installed, please limit the use of your vehicle's high-voltage battery to a maximum state of charge of 80%. This 80% upper limit must be set manually before each charging session.
• Also attached is a guide outlining the prerequisites for carrying out the online software update. Alternatively, you may contact your local Porsche Centre to schedule an appointment for the software update to be performed at the workshop. The contact details for Porsche Centre Zagreb are as follows:

• If the vehicle is no longer in your possession, please reply to this email with the name and address of the new owner so we can notify them accordingly.

Until the optimized software has been installed, we kindly ask you to temporarily limit the state of charge of the high-voltage battery to a maximum of 80%. This precaution helps protect the battery. Please ensure that the 80% limit is set in the vehicle before each charging session and inform any other users of your vehicle accordingly.


Once the software is successfully installed, temporary battery analysis by a Porsche workshop and the charge limit will no longer be necessary.


We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your continued trust.


How can your vehicle receive the optimized software?


Online Update (Over-the-Air)
The software can be downloaded automatically in the background via an online "Over-the-Air" method. You will receive a notification through the My Porsche app once the installation is ready to begin. Details and prerequisites for Over-the-Air programming can be found via the QR code provided. Please note that online update availability may depend on your specific vehicle.


Update at a Porsche Centre
Alternatively, the software update can be carried out at your Porsche Centre. The update is expected to take up to 3 hours.


What improvements does this update bring?
With the optimized software, key parameters of the high-voltage battery are continuously monitored within the vehicle. If any irregularities are detected, a yellow warning message will be displayed on the instrument cluster of your Taycan, and as a safety measure, the maximum charge level of the high-voltage battery will automatically be limited to 80%.


If a yellow warning message appears in your vehicle, please contact your Porsche Centre without delay. They will inspect your vehicle and perform any necessary repairs.


Should you have any further questions or wish to schedule an appointment for the installation of the optimized software, please contact your Porsche Centre."

Details and Requirements for Over-the-Air Online Programming

To install the software update online in your Taycan, the following requirements must be met:

• A valid Porsche ID must be linked to the vehicle and the My Porsche app must be installed.
• The user must be logged in to the My Porsche app with the Porsche ID and must have a verified connection to the vehicle.
• The “Online Software Update” function must be enabled in the PCM (Porsche Communication Management) system of the vehicle.
• The vehicle must have a stable mobile data connection (e.g., LTE) with sufficient signal strength.
• The high-voltage battery must be charged to at least 50%.
• The 12-volt battery must be sufficiently charged.

Additional Notes:

• The vehicle must not be driven during installation of the update.
• Installation time depends on the specific update but typically takes between 30 and 90 minutes.
• During installation, some vehicle functions may be unavailable or limited.
• After installation, a confirmation message will be shown in the vehicle’s display.
• The update may be automatically downloaded in the background, and installation can be started later at your convenience.

Nothing was shown in my PCM. I contacted my dealer and he thinks the update is not yet available for my VIN, but I not sure about that.

ARB6 needs to be checked every 60 days at dealership. Takes 3 hours (though my garage want the car for 2 days so they can do at their leisure). So recall will remain active until this software update.

Given that, I think that if they do install the on-board monitoring software the orange triangle will disappear after a few days, at least that's what happened in my case.

FWIW, had my WRS0 HV battery monitoring PCM software 'update' self-install OTA today - took minutes whilst I briefly parked up - no issues - nothing seems different so far. This is now a few months since I installed the initial 'remote monitoring' PCM update OTA.

The associated blurb on the screen explained that the update provided my PCM with more capable monitoring capability (I para-phrase) with direct PCM warnings in the event of a fault. Cheers
