Looks like magnesium manthey kit wheels.

So likely just a colaboration for a manthey kit.

Unlikely to be anything else beside a manthey kit, which they likely want to use to beat the Xiaomi SU7 ultra records.

Lets bet on if the fake rear vents are finally real or not

Definitely an answer to SU7 Ultra.

The Turbo GT Weissach was developed by Manthey to answer the Plaid. Now they are focusing on Xiaomi.

It seems like a new front fender with some other stick on elements.
This would need to be closer to the 1500hp mark. Maybe the current rear motor assembly replacing the smaller front?

I wish they would spend this money and resources on making the existing platform better. Chasing after the competition where Porsche feels compelled to be the 'king of the hill' with a ridiculously modified track car that nobody will enjoy as a practical daily driver on the public roads is just silly. This is not a GT3 or even a stock 911. They have evidently forgotten this is a sport turismo sedan which no one buys to drive on the track.

All you are saying is true.

But right now Porsche is not competitive in other aspects when it comes to EV cars.

So the only thing they can do is continue to compete on what they can, aka driving dynamics and track records.

Sadly, I think Porsche is a bit stuck in terms of platform development for EVs:
- They don't have a battery supplier that can deliver the quality and performance of chinese batteries, at the mass market quantity they need.
- They are stuck in supply chain contracts, that forces them to use outdated technology, otherwise they would be burning money.
- the J1 platform itself is compromised, having evolved from a 918 base project envisioning a 918 4 door sedan - which can clearly be felt by the size of the car despite compromised interior space, and in & out friction due to non-sense pillars on a 4 door sedan.

More than likely j1 platform is done; and whatever comes with the 718 EV will be the next porsche platform. The problem is, that platform is stuck in development hell due to battery providers in europe not being good enough to match chinese ones.

One thing I find funny that when similar kits released for the j1.1; people called them stupid and ridiculous on a 4 door sedan; and how dare people just glue a wing/diffusor/front spoiler on a 4 door sedan.

Well... Here's Porsche, doing the ridiculous thing ?

They could have spent the extra effort to design some active aero bits.

Why does the Manthey wheels only use the aero disc in the rear and not the front?

They are for stability, reduces air turbulence at high speeds.

In front they aren't necessary because there are already aero elements doing the job on the underside of the car, air channels for the brakes and such, and also the front spoiler.

Also, adding anything more on the front wheels would affect steering feel and braking, as most of the braking force is on the front brakes, and covering them would reduce their air intake/exhaust and overheat them faster.

The purpose of the manthey kit overall is to slightly shift aero balance forward, which it does by 2%, while of course also increasing the downforce drastically, by 20%, for better cornering at high speeds.

Very true about the battery technology.
Look what Xiaomi accomplished with the 95kwh battery on the SU7 Utlta

While I'm not in the market for a Taycan GT RS, I think this competition is good and healthy, the resulting know how and technical developments trickling down to all models. The brand will be impacted the day that Porsche gives up and no longer attempts to be one of the best road cars for the track for its top models.

Taking the Cayenne EV to set the hill climb record was similarly great marketing.

A big downforce gain comes from inducing outwash to draw air through the front wheels making the front splitter work more powerfully.
The 2 little upsweeps ahead of the front wheelarch create vortices which lower the pressure outboard of the wheel and draw air through, the vane just behind probably is part of a more powerful air curtain, which is retained on the Turbo GT by not having the electric charge doors.

I thought those flip ups on sports racing cars just were to produce a bit of extra downforce until I designed one myself and instrumented it in the wind tunnel.
It is surprisingly powerful.

At the rear you don't want air sucked inwards relieving any low pressure you manage to generate with the diffuser so blocking the rear wheel as much as can be done without hurting brake cooling is good.

These mods are for more downforce not less drag.

Its a long video, but it also explains why you cant just have the aero wheels by itself without the rest of the kit.
The amount of detail involved to achieve additional downforce is incredible
