From what I understand, the Active Ride system is so advanced that it could entirely replace the air suspension. However, the air suspension was kept in place to help reduce the power consumption of the Active Ride system. And yet there’s the option to lift the car for speed bumps etc…
Seems odd that the car would be able to lift on entry with standard air suspension.
Actually just being tall will do it. I told the salesman it was a silly gimmick. Then I noticed that the twisty move I had to make to get in to my J1 was simply never needed in getting in to the Active Ride 1.2. It really is far more comfortable.I don’t see the need for that, unless you have mobility problems.
The best work around is to raise the car just before parking and turn off the power in raised mode. When you get in, the car will still be raised. I have a steep short ramp from the street to my driveway, so I always raise the car before entering the driveway to avoid bottoming. The difference in height is not dramatic, but it does make it easier to get into the car.And yet there’s the option to lift the car for speed bumps etc…
