My wife was complaining that my rear left door didn’t shut properly. On investigation, the window was not dropping the normal 5mm on opening, so was catching on the trip when the door was closing. When I was next in the car, I checked the window worked but noted that it had forgotten its end point for the single click close. I reset this and now the window is dropping when I open the door.

So is this just coincidence and I have an intermittently faulty door sensor? Or is the window dropping on opening linked to the close end point being set correctly? Anyone else had this issue? I need to know as the warranty expires soon (although I plan to extend it).

It does happen but you've followed the correct procedure to relearn the position - the fact there is a procedure is rather telling and almost expected to happen on occasion.

Thanks, but my question was whether those two thing are related I.e. the car forgetting the end point of the window coming up and it not dropping the window when the car door opens? Or was it just coincidence that the relearn procedure appeared to fix it?

The latter is my guess.

There are 2 micro switches in the door internals u might want to check. Need to pull the door card to get to them. Miscalibration can also mess with the auto-drop feature.
