I've read a few comments about j1.1 TPMS not being compatible with a j1.2 car.

I want to get my winter wheels ready several weeks before I need to fit them. Has anyone had j1.2 compatible sensors fitted to j1.1 wheels?

What route did you take - Porsche dealer quoted £600+ or go Amazon / elsewhere and a local tyre fitter?

Thanks

I just did this. I had to replace the TPMS on the J1.1 wheels with the updated versions. I went with the OEM at $175 each from SunCoast.

The problem is (I’m told) the J1.1 TPMS won’t communicate with the J1.2 modules.

Which reminds me, I have a set of 4 TPMS for a J1.1 car, which I believe have been lightly used, or not used at all, that I would let go pretty cheaply if anyone needs a set.

My Autel shows it covers the later Taycans, so it should be possible to program or clone new sensors.

I should have been more clear. The J1.2 sensors will fit on the J1.1 wheels, no problem. I bought a set of CT design wheels from a Taycan forum member that were new or nearly new, but for a J1.1, and simply switched out the TPMS.

The dealer put them on for me along with mounting new summer tires for the wheels. It was about $400 to do it. I supplied the TPMS and the tires.

Sadly, they say they won't sell to consumers even though their site says they will.
Odd company.

Can they tell you which trade outlets they will sell to near you?
