Taycan 18 way seat Discomfort

Basically they are counting the different clicks you can do on the buttons. Stupid, I know.

This is marketing at its worst. I'm surprised they didn't count the number of positions each adjustment value can take, then call it an X millions way adjustable seats (accounting for all possible combinations of all adjustments).

The 18-way seat is narrower than the 14-way, but it also has longer side bolsters. I tried using a seat cushion to elevate myself a bit and create a wider seating area, and I believe it helped. Now, I’m planning to have a custom made seat cushion crafted to raise the seat base by 2–3 cm. I’ll share an update and some pictures here after testing it on a long drive

18 way seat differ from model to model. 18 ways in a Cayenne and.Macan (and Panamera I assume) are much wider than in the Taycan. The Taycan 18 ways are more similar to 18 ways in a 911. I had the same issue in my wife’s Taycan with 18 ways but was able to find a setting that is comfortable on longer drives.

Yea but its a wide car. I mean wider than Panamera and Macan. Close to Cayanne. Its center console is not as big as panamera. I Just dont understand why the seats are narrow. Its a sedan and mine is actually a wagon. Probably i misunderstand the concept of Taycan. Anyway i hope this extra seat cushion will work.

I drive for two hours every weekday, so comfort is very important to me. May I ask how tall you are and how much you weigh? Maybe i can get used to it too in time

The 18 way seats are a disaster for me. Almost sold the car the next day. The only way I can tolerate them is with seat cushions in the middle and a thick sheepskin cover. Even with those they still hurt my hips and back. 6'2" 240. Please let us know if you custom make any sort of insert that fits and lifts the seatpan and back rest. My testdrive with the 14 way was glorious and I had no idea the 18 way would be so much less adjustable. Still pissed my turbo s is so uncomfortable.

Track car - Ha. Can only make it around the track 2 laps.

Its about the thickness of thighs. I am 6.1 and 92 kg but i have thick thighs. 18 ways too uncomfortable for long rides for the lower body if you are not slim.

There must surely be someone on here, who is slim and would like the more expensive 18 way seats as a straight swap with their 14 way seats? I tried the 18 way, and at 195ibs and 6'3", I preferred the 14 way.

Well Germany rejected my seat change request and i was ready to pay for it. I am hopefull about the seat cushion.

Same experience. It feels like I'm sitting up against a steel rod in a chair that is just too narrow. In my previous car I could mostly solve it with readjustments, but in my new MY2025 it's always there.

Asking my dealer for a solution. Fingers crossed.
