I'm a fairly new owner of a 2021 Taycan Cross Truismo 4S. It currently has 34,000 miles on it and the original warranty runs out at the end of next month. Last week while at my local Porsche dealer having a recall accomplished I was talking with the service writer and he mentioned to me that he would never own one of these without a warranty. Since I am an aircraft mechanic by trade I have never bought any extended warranties for the cars I've owned. I always done all the repairs and maintenance myself. But I've never owned an EV. So, I wondering if I should purchase one? I only plan on keeping this car for another 2 years or so as I may try the new electric Cayman when it arrives. With that in mind I priced a 2 year extended warranty from Porsche and was quite surprise to hear that it would about $6500. Sounded crazy to me. I'm asking for different opinions on the subject, any thoughts will be appreciated.
Hi MJ, an extended warranty for your Taycan is well worth the money and peace of mind. Be sure to shop multiple dealers hard for best price as they can all sell one to you. Best wishes on this!

You can get for $1000 - $1500k per year. Mileage drives up the cost over time. Where are you located? Still under factory? I just extended mine to 10y total 100k miles and if you are still under factory any dealer can do it with just some paperwork. Some people just go to 8y to match the battery warranty. San Antonio Porsche is a good one - call their finance manager.

If you have had an experience of using the "extended warranty" which is a service agreement that has limited coverage, please post your experience with the dealer. It's really questionable how good these agreements are, and I would like to see some solid evidence that the dealers honor them as much as they honor the original factory warranty.

Heir in EU it is USD3,2k per year (factory one). I skipped it. Don't want to buy cost in advance. Battery is covered for 8 years/160k km anyway.
Note: we had only 2-year bump to bump warranty, from 2024 3-year.
😳😳😳😳
I’m in EU as well… 3k€ for three years @ Porsche.

Everyone throws around pricing they got, but remember it depends on your car's mileage (significantly) and age. So I think you can do way better than what you were quoted, but each car's pricing may be slightly different.

Here (EU) age/milage are not matters, 'only' 111 points check should be passed, and 2Y/30k km services done .

I received Prices from my only one Hungarian dealership as:

1Y-EUR2750
2Y-EUR4625
3Y-EUR6375
4Y-EUR7875

Prices including 27% VAT, cost of 111-point-check and Road Side Assistance.

Be sure it is the factory one not the one that is a third-party and sells by your dealer. I just checked my one in Hungary again and it is €2750 per year including our local 27% VAT. That would be strange differences like this between European countries.

Third party is available here as well on half price with lots of exemption for example, electrical parts incl. HV system.

The Cars is under the 111 Porsche approved Extended Warranty and get the Official Porsche extension direct from Porsche Italia

You are getting scammed by the dealer or you are messing up the currency conversion.
In no other EU country does it cost this much.

You can also extend the warranty at another Porsche dealer.

Yes warranty is mandatory on this vehicle from my experience with it. That price is also astronomically high for two years it’s even high for four years. Just shop around

I am not messing up with numbers believe me as an economist. We have only one dealership in the country. I already asked an offer from an Austrian dealership which is about 300 km from my home just to see the situation.

So that means the dealer is scamming you.
You can extend the warranty in any dealership in the EU.

Taycan here according to current pricelist (incl. VAT):
1y 2350 EUR
2y 4100 EUR
3y 5650 EUR
4y 6950 EUR

In Germany it's cheaper. For cars in warranty:
1y 1400 EUR
2y 2590 EUR
3y 3700 EUR

For cars out of warranty:
1y 1790 EUR
2y 2940 EUR
3y 4050 EUR

It seems to.
I hope there is no country limitation so an Austrian dealer will give me an offer. The email is sent, hopefully they will answer on Monday. I will share it.

VAT is 8% less in Germany than in Hungary but still…
Unfortunately wherever I buy I will need to pay my local 27% VAT

Hi, in Italy 1600 € 1 year , 2800 € 2 year , 4000 € 3 year
i'm going for one year every time and see…no refund ,even if you trade in
That’s better approach…year by year.
I made mistake; purchased 3year, then i tradein my CT after 11 months 🤦🏻‍♂️

As i said before, last year, i paid about 3000 for 3 years extended warranty.

I think that they might send you an offer…but in thst case you’ll have to drive to Austria 🤷‍♂️
