Just out of date ECU software versions and PCM version.
So what do i tell the Porsche workshop, What do I want updated? Can i give them a list or just update everything and they will do it? Can i reference something. I want to make sure the right things get done. And PCM to 2025 version (i currently have 3882)

Sadly, they perform these updates only if you have issues, so you have to give them proof of issues or hope the dealer believes you when you tell him 😅

For the people interested only in the camera feed quality issue - the bulletin says it's to be installed only upon customer complaints of intermittent camera issues (not working / black)

This is the assistance control unit software update from whatever else version to 0385 bulletin:

Advice from my own experience, on ECU updates, it to request it from smaller dealerships willing to please people to gain clients. It's 6h+ of work if everything works the first time.

And of course, have as many complaints about the PCM as possible, with pictures - so they can invoice it to porsche.

My car was away for 2 days for everything to be updated.
Actually, my cameras exhibit precisely that behaviour. For the most part, they work. But there are cases where it seems that the whole system fails to initialise, and so they remain black even while engaging reverse.

So I believe the symptoms fit what you describe. Is this a recall covered under the standard manufacturers warranty here in CH? Or is a paid-for job covered only by the Porsche Approved warranty?

I ask because I've imported my car, and before Porsche CH is able to issue the Approved warranty, I need to own the car for 3 months. Which means, mid-January for me.

It's not a recall, it's a service campaign to be done under warranty if a customer complains about this issue.

So yes, covered by warranty.

I would wait for the porsche approved warranty to kick in, maybe even one extra month after, and then make the complaint about the issue.

I had good experience software wise from Porsche Bern. Less good from others.

Happens to me as well. Sometimes a few times during the trip. Taycan CT‘23. Very annoying as you have to enter destination again every time. During my last visit to Porsche they did a hard factory reset but the issue keeps on coming back((

Yesterday my PCM wouldn't fully start up when turning the car on. Just stuck at 'PORSCHE'. The car drove fine, radio worked (though I could not access it on screen), but some functionality on the main dash like maps did not work. I power cycled the car a few times, rebooted the PCM in engineer mode, etc and the problem continued. Ultimately just parked the car when I got home, locked it, left it for an hour, came back, and magically everything was fine.

This sort of misbehavior of the PCM is unfortunately a real thing.

On the plus side it happens to me only once or twice a year, but when it does it is very annoying. Also, powering the screen off/on via the lower screen doesn't do anything, and the 2-finger reset is of no use. It seems the PCM is just in a "partially on" state and needs to be shut down for a while to get back to normal.

Yep regularly randomly freezes or reboots during navigation. Sometimes freezes and resets to no route at all, sometimes unfreezes and carries on navigation ok.

I know this I was big 2-3 years ago - and i think there's a combination of it getting a LITTLE better for me and my just getting used to it

But every once in a while - my PCM just goes black and reboots - all 3 screens (including passenger) but NOT the main cluster gauge screen

Now - it used to freeze the #$%^&*(@%##$ up and i'd have to hit the magic two finger force reboot on the top right, and i'm DEFINITELY doing this less often - but still once in a while

Several things suck about the rebooting:
-um, it's a friggin 6 digit car HELLO, EVERYTHIGN SHOULD WORK
-it takes about 3-4 minutes to reboot - so no music or anything for that time
-normally the hvac will stay on what it was on - so you keep getting the heat or a/c that was on (at least)
-i have a short commute - i have half my drive with no music. blah

So here's why i'm sending this - i have maybe 6 months of warranty left. The last time i was in they did a HUGE PCM update/upgrade/whatever - wiped my settings and everything. They said "maybe this will work" but it didn't

When we all first got these 3-4 years ago the Porsche purists were like STOP BITCHING ABOUT THE ELECTRONICS, IT'S A DRIVER'S CAR AS LONG AS IT DRIVES STOP YUR COMPLAINING. SO i backed off - and i wasn't sure if i saw less complaints because everyone else's stopped doing it - OR if ya'll just got used to it (like me)

But it's seriously not ok to have this happen. it probably happens once every two weeks - maybe once in 40-50 trips - all short in length. Used to be twice a week so hey, it's gotten better

I'm thinking of keeping this car for like 5-7 years - i'd rather have it covered under warranty than not, and my time's a-dwindling for that to happen

And i've told the service guys every time i've taken it in (i'm not horribly close to a dealer) about it with no resolution

here's a vid of it literally happening when i was taking it to the dealer for something else. No judging me for the smudgy/dirty screens - they look fine when they're on and the sun's not directly on them...

sorry for answering late, I might not be the best example since I'm driving a June'2020 Taycan Turbo since "only" 1 month, but I've had 0 issues with the PCM rebooting, or bugging, or anything unpleasant since 1 month / 1000km
