ahhh ok, "Rear" cross-traffic alert, got it
Not necessarily rear - I have front cross traffic alert on mine, but not rear. It's supposed to help with pulling out of junctions or driveways when the visibility isn't great. I find it of very limited use.

Thanks, I didn't even imagine that Porsche would split one "simple" option in two sub-options...crazy

I drove a Xpeng G9 Perf for a year and their approach is sharp and simple :
They all come with one single UI / tech system, really high tech, slightly better than Tesla IMHO, OTA are regular and they listen to their community (such as choosing to put the image of your rear cameras when you turn left or right either on the big screen, or in the small screen behind the wheel, super useful).

you choose your model : G9 standard, long range, or performance.

Then you choose :
- color : some are free, some cost 1K€
- "luxury" cockpit : 4K€, real leather and a sound system that is by far the best I've heard (above the Burmester's, and far above the usual "Bose" in Mercedes for example).
- and towing for 1,3K€
And nothing else.

For 80K€ brand new (G9 Perf + these 3 options) you get a really high-tech car, I can tell you the autonomous driving was good in January, and when I gave back the car in Novembre it was close to perfect, ie I was using it not only on the highway but also in inter-city, or even in heavy traffic without any fears.

This billion-options approach from Porsche is great when it comes to the physical customization of the car, inside/outside, to give it "your" look and no-one else's - that is my concept of Luxury.

But in the technology department it's a non-sense.
I haven't made the total, but all the techology you get in e.g. my G9 "for free" must be ~50K€ of options in a Taycan, at least, and when I compare my experience in the G9 to everything I've read in this forum, these Xpeng techs are far beyond what Porsche is doing.

Even the newest Macan I drove (Dec'24) is "up-to-date" but not "state-of-the-art"(I didn't have time to test seriously the autonomous driving).

Despite all of the above, I will buy a Taycan because I never had that feeling when driving a car, it's a whole different world from my former G9, or the Model S, Model Y Perf, Model 3 Perf that I tried out. I saw a test drive of the new Xpeng P7, more "sporty" and the guys look all excited about it, and yes it's again a crazy technological step they're taking, but I'm betting the driving feeling & the car chassis itself will still be far from a Taycan :)

But the question is "for how long" ?
That should worry all of us Porsche owners (well, soon-to-be for me) on the value of the vehicles in a few years...
Regardless of "opinions" about Teslas & Chinese cars, Porsche will need to muscle up on technology and fast, they can't keep selling 200K€ cars with an Atari VCS 2600 inside, it's not serious :)

sorry for this long post, just to make sure I don't get killed (lol) : I'm all in on Porsche since I drove my future Taycan Turbo.
I'm just saying it's really frustrating that on one side you have Chinese brands (& Tesla) who know how to build a giant phone with batteries but don't really know what a "real" car is, and on the other side have a brand like Porsche, who knows how to build great "driver's cars" ( as Jasper on this forum would say :) ).
And what I see right now is that both (Chinese / Tesla) are improving their chassis / driving experience at a fast pace.
