How about putting “Turbo” on an electric car - just plain dishonest ?
Gotta admit - putting Turbo on an EV is very weird and never appealed to me.

The 718 sequence of S, GTS, GT4 and GT4RS all work better from my perspective, and certainly Porsche could have gone that direction.

I spent $500 on Porsche crests just so that the headrests don't say "Turbo".
Do you look at them often? ?

Back when this was a new furor, I've decided to not participate in it because something can be 'a jack', or be named 'Jack' - and that's alright.
Oh, wait.. the 'turbo' in Taycan's name is lowercase.. eff. ?

Had to search for this thread because I’ve been contemplating purchasing them. I’m prob in the minority but I like the way it looks on the door.

Mine came with them…I’m considering removing them.

I was at the local dealership last week for the ASA2 recall and noticed most (if not all) of the new and loaner 2025 Taycans had the "electric" logo on the doors.

I think having it too close to the powered port is perhaps not the best location. Some folks have it on the bottom of the rear doors and it looks good.

I thought about removing them during the ceramic process my car went through, but remembered a video on why they're there. I think it was an Taycan introduction video from way back when that said first responders needed to know it was an electric car for their safety and was required on models that have both electric and combustion options (like the Macan).

It's not required of the Taycan because electric is the only option, but there aren't many on the road and I doubt emergency folk see them very often.

I'm still conflicted but left them on.

About 17:15 in this video:

This makes sense as to why the word electric is so close to the charging port then.

These have always been optional / deletable - not required for technical or legal reasons. Same deal with "diesel" on the old Cayennes, and "e-hybrid" on Panameras and Cayennes. It's a brand storytelling device.
I skip / opt for deletion of all that stuff including model designation on the rear. It's a nuisance for PPF and hard to clean.
