Couple of moths ago ICE ban was 100% by 2035. 90% can be changed as fast as 100 to 90.
Not really, if you read the actual PR the 90% was a PR trick done to prop up EU steel manufacturers. As I said the devil is in the details.
Functionally nothing changed.

And no, it will not changed "as fast". Consider that right now nothing tangible changed. More of nothing is still nothing. You know, zero times any number is still zero and so on.

That's why I said you got suckered by the politicians. The EU auto stocks on the stock market basically didn't react at all to this announcement, because nearly all the analysts saw right through the bullshit and there were mass PR's from auto manufacturers that it's completely useless change having no real effect on anything.

There are so many clauses attached to the 10% that it will make the ICE car like 10 times more expensive to produce than EV...

The 2035 ban is not going to be needed anyway. Almost nobody will make ICE anymore by 2040, because EV's will be much cheaper, charge as fast as it takes to fill an ICE now and have the same range.
Eventually ICE will be to EV's like horses are now to cars. An expensive hobby, nothing more.

At least I'll be retired by then.

In 2022 Porsche sold 40k+ Taycans, now 15k. That time profit was on historical highs now historical lows. ICE was banned by 2035, now opened. Added with the Boxster/Cayman reverse engineering story since then. Those plans are rubbished long time ago. They definitely turning back to ICE, the only BEV car will be the Taycan on a shared platform with an ICE Panamera that is not so good news as @chun described above. Personally I would not be surprised if Porsche will make another step forward and kill out the Taycan if sales goes under 10k per year in the coming years.
Or combine Taycan/Panamera into one car. 960 Name never actually got used. But just because they had a sales drop doesn’t mean it’s going to continue to drop. By and large, EVs are on the upside of adoption. And we have to look globally, not just America and the west.

On EVs (A to B) in general maybe but driving enthusiasts want ICE. Being young or old. Most of Porsche buyers want excitement on first place. Porsche in it deeply.

Yo don’t need to say “you got suckered by the politicians” again and again enough to say your opinion.
Otherwise I will say you got suckered by the politicians so what?

Not sure if something is lost in translation, try translating to your native language as to what was actually said.

You said "I have no idea how about politicians I do not follow them."

I explained to you why I said what I said. It's not repeating, when it's elaborating on the initial context. Your response makes no sense.

It's absolutely true that sensationalist "decisions" by politicians, amplified by media, which do not change anything in the bottom line are misleading at best.
That said, maybe you're focusing too much on the "you" here - the "you" could be applied to half the forum who do not follow exactly what was said and only quote the sensationalist headline from the media.

I'm perfectly fine. Don't get riled up when you make a mistake and misread the intent, and especially don't double down.
Yeah always the other one misreads the things.

Best case would probably have been to focus solely on Taycan as their Ev, and make everything else ICE/Hybrid.

Agreed and seems the way Porsche already walks in.

Porsche's mistake was not going into BEV.
It was doing it way too early, and that's also why the company is in the gutter and the CEO got sacked and why they now have insane capex on turning it back into ICE. But the damage is done - now is way too late to start developing ICE platforms, that should have been started in 2022-2023.

We are now in 2026, and the ICE Macan and ICE 718 got completely cancelled.
Even keeping in mind the FULL 2035 ICE ban in EU, there was plenty of time to have another whole generation (facelift and everything) 2026-2034.

There should have been a new gasoline macan from 2026.
There should have been a new gasoline 718 from 2026.

Instead they went full EV focus 8 years too early. For what? Just to be the first?
