Leonberg’s fast-charging station is the sixth such exclusive location. Four other charging lounges are located in Germany – in Bingen am Rhein, Estenfeld near Würzburg, Ingolstadt, and Hamburg – while a fifth is in Koblach, in Austria. All electric Porsche models can be recharged at these around the clock. A total of six DC fast-charging points with up to 400 kW of power are available at the Leonberg site. Fully electric Porsche vehicles can take full advantage of their fast-charging potential: a current-generation Taycan, for example, can go from a 10 to 80 per cent state of charge (SoC) in 18 minutes. At 21 minutes, a Macan needs only slightly more time for the same charging process.

Outside, seating areas with recessed speakers underline the standard of comfort at the new Porsche Charging Lounge. Inside, comfortable lounge chairs, a well-stocked selection of soft drinks and snacks, a coffee machine, a water dispenser and modern sanitary facilities ensure a pleasant visit. Powerful Wi-Fi is also available, while one of the highlights is the countryside view.

The fact that they cost as much as Ionity or sometimes even more than other ev networks is baffling, when there's barely any such location. You would think they would make it free to encourage meet-ups at those locations and use of those locations.

Not to mention that they hardly even work. Last autumn I almost had a nightmare scenario , where the porsche PCM changed my ionity selection to a porsche lounge, and shockingly it was offline because it was outside of working hours, whatever that means... Had to find aother charger with 5% left

I tried to access it today, but it was impossible to get in, the interface (QR, Badge ...) was frozen and no one answered the telephone call for assistance...

I love the lounges. For me they worked very well so far. Very clean, exclusive Alpitronics, so you don't get that sharing reduction.

The one in Leonberg is close to a route I drive regularly and it's become my main charger for that.

I don't understand what you mean. Ionity and the Porsche Charging Lounges are the cheapest within the Porsche Charging Service, and they're much cheaper than any other network, both within the PCS, and outside of it, expect maybe Tesla.

So, by your own words, it’s not the cheapest; there’s like 12 locations world wide and they are not built in easily accessible places.

I’m not sure what you don’t understand. Did you read my comment?

They could have made them into a meet up place for porsche EV drivers, but due to zero differentiation in pricing + shit locations + how few of them they are, they are kinda pointless outside of: “cool cool, visited it once, likely never again because there are 79 other places like this with autobahn access”

The discussion isn’t about whether they’re the cheapest. Your exact words were “the fact that they’re the same price as IONITY and sometimes even more than other networks” is a completely inaccurate summary of the situation. IONITY are one of the cheapest CPOs, and PCS is one of the cheapest of all the manufacturers’ own schemes in terms of the price you pay. The only CPO that is cheaper is Tesla, and that’s only at certain locations and at certain times of the day, and using chargers that provide less power. IONITY, through which Porsche owners have access to very beneficial rates, are unmatched in Europe in terms of price, provision of charging locations, and reliability. I think your viewpoint is quite at odds from my experience.

As for the Charging Lounges, I’ve used them a few times and they’re wonderful. No idea why anybody would have an issue with them, other than say there should be more of them. I certainly have no issue with the price.

In Switzerland gofast is cheaper at many locations.

So sometimes they are more expensive than other providers.

So accurate

Any more innacuracies you want?

I dunno what’s unclear to you. Try reading what I wrote

Haven't looked in a while but in Germany I haven't seen an offering for less than 39 ct per kWh. Tesla with 400 V chargers are not an option me.

The availability of cheap chargers is very regional. Norwegians are probably laughing right now.
