So did I understand correctly that you traded your car in in Germany, bought a new one and imported that to Estonia?
Exactly.
I sold my car to German dealer, sent it there with a logistics company.
Ordered new car from German dealer.
Same logistics company brought me my new car.
Then I registered the new car (for first time) directly in Estonia.

I worked with Porsche Zentrum Freiburg.

There are only two things:
1. I can speak fluent German. I am sure they can speak English, but of course all the paperwork is in German and it's a good idea to know what you are signing.
2. You must have all the money up front (once the new car arrives) plus the VAT which is withheld by them until you register the car. What I did was import the car here on my company then sell it to the bank, as we have ~3.5% APR on them. But I also had to have ~160000 euro in free cash to do this, this is for sure not for everyone. The full amount was only needed between the time that the new car got delivered to the dealership and the time that it got registered here. So ~2 weeks. No problem to sell some stocks temporarily...
3. They buy the car directly, so until you get the new one, you have no car.

However, if you find a slightly used car on their lot that you like, then you can do the swap directly.
I am sure you can find another dealer to do that also.

Thanks!
Interesting approach.

Guess the paperwork here in France is a tad more complex to do that. The registration fees as well as the other taxes. But sure it can be done.

You have to also get the car checked here and pay a registration fee. But I don't think it's any different in any countries.
You get the CoC and German papers for the car and with that you can register the car in any EU country.

I am afraid trade in value would be shocking. On the other hand no way to accept a Taycan as a trade-in.
I could resell it in France, and order from Hungary (MY26 at -25% or stock of MY25 at -35% would be interesting), can you please share the details of your dealer ? maybe they have a website to shop around or is it only by calling / visiting them ?

Maybe that is the way to try here in France as well because the dealers have zero interest in any kind of trade:
”We have too many used Taycans in stock”

I do not think my dealer has sold any for a year now
hey hey Pierre :) I'm with you on that one, which dealer is it exactly ?
I haven't tried with mine yet (Porsche Paris Ouest).
I have in mind a trade-in either for a 36 months lease on the new Cayenne (if I like driving it), or for a newer used Taycan.
In the latter case, do you guys think only a MY25 makes sense? or can I go for a cheaper MY24 ?

The dealer here is Segond group in Antibes and Monaco. No interest whatsoever: ”Try to sell it to an independent dealer perhaps”. I have no interest in buying anything from these guys again.

I think if you are going to trade in a MY20 , it would be for a J1.2. I can not see any benefit in getting a younger model than what you already have, as long as you have no issues with it. My personal view though!

No trouble with my Porsche dealer in Uk.
Valued my old Taycan 10k over market price and 7k off new Taycan. It seemed pretty sweet.

I looked up Segond group, they're a luxury car dealer (very nice Bugatti btw lol).
I had equivalents in Paris but I preferred sticking to dealership 100% owned by Porsche.

ok so MY25 Taycan minimum, I was considering downgrading to a 4S to minimize the money I have to put on top, and get a much younger car (ie max range I can get and not worrying about battery warranty anymore).
I don't "need" a Turbo, but I do love the looks of mine, so I'm thinking trading-in for a MY25, possibly a 4S isn't a really smart move after all :-/

I'll probably get more attention & better deal if I tell my sales guy I'm considering a new Cayenne.
Let's see !

As I mentioned it is only for locals. Re-export is strictly prohibited, at least they try to. The car should be registered in Hungary under Hungarian Co. or residential address. The contract also includes 1 year sale stop.

List prices of course.

Also note that these prices are gross incl. 27% VAT, if you bring it out invoicing is net.

ah, so in France we'd gain the VAT difference (ours is 20%), ie 7 points on top of ~10 points negotiation, not bad.
You mentioned potential 30-35% off Taycans on stock, could be attractive enough to justify the whole organization.
