Europe is more than just Switzerland.
And again, i am not sure what you don't understand from what I wrote :)

Read again.

Should I copy past for you?

"With how few they are, and with how shit the location they chose to build them is, charging market or above market prices for charging is stupid, because they could have made them a porsche meet-up place easly if they were free and lose close to no money".

Do you want a drawing, dear? Why are you so confused? It's fine you disagree with me.

They still charge a lot, for no reason, and there absolutely are cheaper alternatives than Ionity in preatty much all countries beside UK - europe is indeed more than switzerland, and UK is not in it. Italy, France and germany all have providers that offer better prices with their own apps or subs.

The lounge here in switzerland hardly sees a handful of cars a week as an example :) And I know because i drive past it daily.

And I will add, porsche clearly has no issue with providing free charging, because they still do for 3 years in USA on all new EVs sold.

And also, where is this comparison to ionity coming from? What, do the lounges compete with Ionity? Ionity is right on the autobahn, the lounges aren't. Ionity is next to gas stations with restaurants, the lounges aren't.

What exactly makes people think that it's a "good deal" to charge at these lounges. How many actually go out of their way, to exit the autobahn, to charge at the same price or sometimes higher price just because it says porsche?
Were it free... probably more porsche EV owners would, and it would start building a community.

But porsche has 0 vision, as usual.

I'm not going to bother continuing this discussion with someone so condescending and arrogant. You're jumping around to different parts of the conversation. I reply to one thing and then you go back to a different post that I'm not replying to in order to prove a point. It's tiresome and childish.

Have they moved the UK? Learn the difference between geographical and politcal "Europe".

I actually live in the Netherlands and have done for the last 25-years.

Give proper arguments or stop replying. This is spam.

Also, the distinction between geographical and political europe is very important when it comes to electric chargers. Because EU, the "political" zone, mandates chargers every 60km on the autobahn or even less, and Switzerland, unlike the UK, also adheres to those mandates ;)

The porsche lounges are a horrible product because, just like with their EVs, porsche refuses to be competitive.

Nobody is going to choose to exit the autobahn to go to a porsche lounge, and pay the exact same money, over taking one of the many other chargers at same price or lower that are directly on the autobahn, have restaurants, parks and more.

If they wanted it to be a porsche dedicated place, a meet up place, they should have made it free, so it makes it worth while for people to go out of their way to stop there to charge more than once.

But Porsche higher-ups have as much vision and understanding of ownership of EVs as a cucumber.

Nope, this has zero to do with the topic.

I don’t think IONITY and PCS is expensive, and coverage is excellent across Europe. If you say there are cheaper alternatives, then use them. Nobody is forcing you to use IONITY or PCS, and Porsche are not obliged to give you free charging.

I have no idea what you’re getting so upset about. Put your energy elsewhere, such as learning how to be less condescending.

Take care, champ.

I haven't found a provider offering less than 39 ct per kWh in Germany. So I'm not paying more.

I've used many Autohöfe in the past as the 20 ct per liter markup of the Raststätten was ripoff. So I don't mind 2 minutes extra.
It's not like the lounges are completely remote to the Autobahn. Except maybe the one in Hamburg.
I don't think you can get much closer to the Autobahn because building at parking lots on the Autobahn is a highly regulated monopoly for fat politicians.

I don't like the toilets at the Raststätten, I hate that I have to pay for them. Often enough even though I have to pay they're dirty.

The other chargers often have no roof, last year in torrential rain the lounge was dry. So my father could get to the toilet with his wheelchair.

Other chargers get blocked by ICE and crawly charging EVs.

So yeah, hate them as much as you want. I like them.

I'm not getting upset, this is a discussion thread. You started aggressively arguing about pricing, not me.

Porsche marketing claims they opened the lounges for porsche owners to meet up.

I pointed out that they won't achieve that with the current prices and locations to build off the autobahn, but still outside cities.:)

Post actual arguments instead of personal attacks and innuendos, or stop spamming.

I'm not disagreeing with the quality of the charging lounges, they are great. Covered, good clean toilets, chairs, quiet.

But The location / position on the map, is often horrible. You need to exit autobahns, they are not in proximity of restaurants, they are not in cities.

Pair that with the non-competitive prices, and with the abysmal amount of them in existence, and I can hardly see any reason to go to one.

In switzerland, specifically, I think only Ionity is without a canopy, MOVE, GOFast and many other providers that have chargers all over the autobahns, all have them covered, so for me that is also no reason.

I am not hating them, I just don't see their point. They clearly don't achieve what porsche marketing intended with them.

The pricing is very competitive, so I've no idea what this guy is wittering on about.

I agree with everything else you say, too. I travel all over Europe on a regular basis, including Belgium, NL, Germany, France, and UK (all multiple times per month), and nothing comes close to IONITY and PCS. The Charging Lounges are also a welcome addition.

No. That's simply a lie. I've not been aggressive in any way shape or form, and I think it's totally unacceptable to just make it up that I have.

My first post...
"I don't understand what you mean. Ionity and the Porsche Charging Lounges are the cheapest within the Porsche Charging Service, and they're much cheaper than any other network, both within the PCS, and outside of it, expect maybe Tesla."

At risk of incurring forum wrath….

I'm thinking that the Porsche lounge is adjacent to the junction of the A1 autoroute so its location allows through traffic (from either direction) and local owners/fronataliers to charge without the latter having to enter the autoroute, seems sensible no?

There are at least 5 restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the lounge including a COOP and its restaurant.
Fancy a summer picnic? Buy a sandwich and eat at the lounge picnic tables.
There's also a shopping centre with a wide assortment of stores.

I’m getting the same price at the lounge as discounted Ionity, with my Porsche subscription.
Looking around it seems like a competitive rate,
Eg The Move mobility charger at the next A1 rest stop is more expensive.
Could Porsche make the lounge more attractive by being cheaper? well for sure they could. Maybe some dynamic pricing or special offers?

I’m typically passing the Porsche Lounge site multiple times a day and there is definitely an uptick in usage since it opened, certainly not ‘a handful a week’.
Eg I drove past 15 minutes ago and there was a Taycan charging…

So maybe the Lounges are Marmite, you love or hate them.
I think the concept is good and the first one they built in Switzerland works well so far.

All things were in order at the Porsche lounge today.
Spotlessly clean, comfy chairs and some piped music, what's not to like.
They even had an interesting read on the Carrera, I might need to pop back there to finish the book. :)

I use Porsche Charging Lounges everytime I travel, Hamburg, Würzburg, Evestorf and Ingolstadt so far.
Very pleasant experience, apart from the coffee machines, that often don't work.
Nice restrooms, quick and cheap charging, nice ambiente.
Always little give-aways there like fe chocolate or magazines.

Does a Taycan book exist? I’d be interested.

I was thinking the same thing, I'm not sure.
Clearly not the decades of history of the Carrera to fill a huge book, but there must be some interesting development background, technical info etc.

I was a little surprised that the toy models they put on the shelf in the lounge are both 911's. Maybe its cross selling !
