Hi all, new owner/member here.

We recently got an Australian market MY21 Taycan 4S, and I've noticed the "Low" chassis height option isn't available in the menu. The car will go into low mode on the highway, but not just by going into sport plus. Apparently this is an Australian specific thing.

I was wondering if anyone knows if this is something that could be re-enabled via PIWIS?

Look for this on the dash when you're on the highway:

In Sport Plus it shows even lower with 2 arrows pointing down.

Not sure but probably.

All chassis level modes are listed below:

Curious to know what the Australian Owner's Manaul lists as available heights?

Wonder if I can just get Porsche to enable it, since it's in the manual. Warranty claim, software bug? :p

It's not a bug but I suspect limited by regulation(s). Does the owner's manual in My Porsche App and PCM list the same?

AI tells us:

Air suspension settings are limited in Australia primarily to ensure vehicle safety, stability, and regulatory compliance under strict National Vehicle Standards. Excessive lowering or raising reduces suspension travel and compromises handling. Modifications beyond roughly require strict engineering certification to maintain roadworthiness.
Key reasons for limited air suspension settings:
  • Safety & Handling:Altering suspension height changes how a vehicle handles, potentially reducing stability and increasing the risk of accidents.
  • Reduced Travel: Lowering a vehicle reduces available "bump" (upward) travel, while extreme raising reduces "droop" (downward) travel, leading to harsh rides, damaged components, or reduced traction.
  • Legal Regulations: Australian design rules generally restrict suspension modifications to a maximum of
  • (up or down) without formal engineering approval.
  • Operational Constraints: Many systems automatically return to standard height over certain speeds (e.g., 18 mph) to maintain safety.
  • Component Damage: Excessive pressure from over-lifting can cause damage to airbags and surrounding components.
Note: In some cases, such as in Victoria, modifying suspension to air must be certified by a VASS approval certificate.

For this reason your dealer won't risk breaking the 'law'.

Odd that this isn't caveated in the Owner's Manual specific to Australia.

I actually suspect that this omitted feature is causing alignment issues, as when the car is aligned at "normal ride height", it will be off for highway speeds. I've noticed the car is a little unstable on the highway, as if it needs a tiny bit of toe-in, but there's absolutely no way to align the car at the correct ride height..

Also, you don't want it low all the time when you're going over bumps and humps - may scratch the bottom of the car?

The issue is that it's *only* low at highway speeds in range mode. I cannot select low manually.

I'm pretty used to low cars, so I'm not worried about forgetting to raise if neccisary.
