Arghhhh! Accidentally forgot to black out window surrounds...

After agonising over spec for ever and a day I just noticed I forgot to black out the window surrounds. Way too late to change spec now as the car's already in a container on it's way to me! Car is volcano gray with pano roof and now I'm wondering if I can live with it, or if it even might look good on that combo... quick couple of questions... is the surround silver or chrome? Hard to tell in photos and I hate chrome so if it is, is it possible to get something like the window surround wrapped nicely without being obvious up close, or will it always look like, well, that some idiot forgot to black it out at the factory?

And yes, you can 100% get it wrapped black (flawlessly) if you end up disliking it. No problemo.

I’ve got them on mine. It’s a chrome look I’d say. Mine was a dealer spec car, and I would have gone for black surrounds had I specced it myself, but I think they look OK.

Chrome. I have it on my Volcano 4S and looks so much better than black gloss in my opinion.

Fairly sure you can get your local service centre to change them out. Will be a good bit more than the configurator - but definitely possible.

Got chrome on my Macan and did not like it anymore. Had them wrapped, looks perfekt no difference to the OEM Version for a couple of euros.

I forgot on mine as well. I figured I would do like @Schlarbsi and wrap the trim if I wanted black, but I think it looks fine, so I didn't do anything about it.

Normally, I prefer black window surrounds, but I think the silver looks good on the Taycan.

My configuration (RWD Taycan, no trim options) shows that it's black by default. I'll double check with my dealer but I hope the configurator didn't get this wrong. Not a fan of silver or chrome trim ?

The standard window trim depends on which model you have:

Taycan - Matte black
Taycan 4S and Turbo - Silver
Taycan Turbo - Gloss black

If black is the preference then surely gloss is better than matt (it will look dull and cheap otherwise)

It was my original spec and I like the chrome look as it makes the Taycan resemble a panamera - but since I aspired for the 911 look I deselected the pano roof and went with the black ones with Dolomite here are some pictures I took at Porsche Copenhagen

Many thanks for so many replies to put my mind at ease! I guess there's nothing to do but wait now and see what it looks like. The Taycan is one of those cars that looks so much better in the flesh anyway. Good to know a small area like that can be wrapped though; never wrapped anything before. Thanks all...

FWIW, I think the silver looks really nice as an accent matching the silver in the wheels. That's partially because the shape of the overall window is an attractive--almost teardrop--shape that is nice when attention is called to it. I know a lot of people think the more black the better, but with sharp wheels (with silver), I actually like ALL of the photos in this thread with silver. Not necessarily BETTER than black, but just as good IMO. Of course, YMMV.
