Uk Delivery Updates

I ordered a Taycan 4s through a lease company back in October 2020, finally got given dealers details, on contacting the dealer in January they did not even have a car build slot allocated to me at all after nearly 4 months and said car would not be delivered until probably at least August. I cancelled order with lease company who returned the deposit and appologised.

I put in order direct to my local dealer for a CT4S in February, now locked and build complete end of this April for delivery May

I dont think dealers like lease companies and give preference to their own customers

I agree, I am sure I could have got a much better lead time going direct to the dealer. However, the cost saving going through a work Salary Sacrifice Scheme made the man maths stack up (i.e. it will cost less than the private lease on my X6 does), due to the 1% BiK tax as opposed to Income tax on your salary. At least I have a build slot allocated now (took 10 months), so June build slot is confirmed with the dealer with delivery in July. I cant wait, I am just regretting not upgrading the alloys.

10th March 2020- order placed with Company Scheme
12th March 2020- order rejected due to the Government Grant for EV's changing on the 12th of March
21st April 2020 - New order placed with the Company car scheme
28th April 2020 - Order rejected placed as list price had increased (which it had not)
6th May 2020 - Order eventually confirmed as placed
23rd Sept 2020 - Forecast delivery date July 2021
25th March 2021 - Contact from the Porsche Dealer confirming the spec and confirmation of June Build allocation and July delivery.

All with plenty of emails in between around price changes, Brexit charges, compulsory Mobile Charger Cable costs etc....

Good news! Had an email from my dealer this morning. Apparently my car turned up at the dealership this morning! PDI etc to do, but I will be collecting by Monday 19th April latest. ??
Not sure what has happened, and honestly don’t care now, but clearly the information that it was on The Parana was incorrect. I think it must have been on the Malacca Highway which came into Sheerness yesterday afternoon.
I hope you all get some good news too, very soon!

I’m yet to hear on mine, hoping it arrived yesterday but think I’ll back off chasing the dealer for now, told myself I should wait a week before chasing again!

I was told it was completed on 30th March, although judging by the inaccuracy of other information I wouldn’t bank on it...

That would be an impressive turn around if true. But either way doesn’t matter now that you have a firm delivery date for your car!
FYI mine was built week of 22nd March

Thanks. Mine was built on 26/03 & still at Emden. Amazing how Porsche turnaround is so adhoc.

Agree. Doesn’t make sense. When did you last get an update? I was told on Monday mine will be on a ship this week. Imagine we will be on the same one

Yesterday. Was told that still no news on ETA..
Told the dealer that if there is no news by end of this week, will be writing to MD of Porsche UK Marcus Eckermann.
BTW: I don't blame the dealer for the delay.

I got another update today, the car is now in the UK at port and I can collect on Sat 24th April! Build completed 2nd April.
