I took delivery of my 2021 4S about two weeks ago.

I reside in Thailand. When I ordered the car, I was given a one page Porsche brochure (in Thai language) which states that the car has Smart Lift as standard equipment. The configurator that was used to order my car states that the car has Smart Lift as a standard feature - “Adaptive Air Suspension including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Smart Lift.” The Thai language manual which came with the car explains how to program Smart Lift.

But no Taycans in Thailand actually have Smart Lift and the dealership is telling me it’s because Thailand doesn’t have the Porsche Connect App - and there’s no sign of Thailand getting the app in the foreseeable future. Does any of this make sense to anyone?

I’m very unhappy about this. I have paid for a Taycan with Smart Lift and Porsche Connect and received a Taycan with neither.

Any comments or advice, please?

Strange answer from your dealer. What does the Porsche Connect app have to do with the Smart Lift?
Thank you! Yes, that's what I thought. I am not tech-savvy but I thought the Smart Lift works using the GPS. Correct?

Anyone else who can help shed any light on this?

Your dealer is clueless if this is the best excuse on offer. There is no dependency on Porsche Connect App (or anything else for that matter).

The primary dependency is to have air suspension and so if you have that then the Smart Lift feature can be made available however there will be regional variations (for whatever reason) where it may not be offered. If the manual states you should have it then either this is a printing error or it has not been enabled in your PCM (check to see if it is listed) . I believe Australia has a limitation with air suspension and not all ride heights are offered for example.

Does your air suspension work?

Email Porsche GmbH for an authoritative answer.

Thank you so much!

Yes, I have the air suspension. It works beautifully. I have Lift, Medium, Lowered and Low.

Note I say "Medium" and not "Regular". I have seen videos on YouTube and never seen "Medium" listed as one of the heights - it's always "Regular". Mine says "Medium" This leads me to believe I have old software and the the car has not been updated with the latest software which might explain why there is no Smart Lift.

Note: my car is supposed to be a 2021 model.

And no, Smart Lift is not listed in my PCM. I have seen it listed on YouTube in the PCM of 2021 models.

Hold 2 fingers on the clock in the center screen to force-reboot. Then click quit, then confirm. Let it boot up, and wait a minute after it's on again. Then check for it.

21 model with the updates. I had to do this once to get everything reactivated after the updates and to show up at all (Again).

Otherwise your guess is as good as mine.

Yes, the option is most definitely missing from the vehicle settings.

Nowhere to be found. It is not there!

SmartLift was part of MY21 (pre-software updates) - certainly in Europe and elsewhere.

Any chance you can take a video and post it here?
You mean a video of me following the sequence to activate Smart Lift so you can see it's not listed?

If that's what you mean, I can do it but it may take me 36 hours before I am able.

Okay, I've never done anything like this before but I think this will work:

Please Google "no smart lift" Youtube - write it exactly like that including the " " and you should get a video of me trying to find Smart Lift in my PCM.

It's bedtime here in Thailand, so I'll check the forum again in about 8 hours. I hope someone can help me understand why my car does not have Smart Lift.

Thank you.

I don't remember having to access the Central Display to activate Smart Lift on MY20 (with WMA5).

What happens when you press the lift button on the dash?
After the vehicle lifts it should ask if you want to save the location.

Did rebooting via engineering mode not help?

Here's his video, by the way.

Thank you very much for your rebooting suggestion.
I am hopeless with computers etc. so I'm really scared to do what you described in your earlier post in case I do something wrong.
If I do it, I am scared I might do something to the car which could make matters worse. I live 880 kms (550 miles) from my dealership so a breakdown would be problematic.
