No swiping. I tap the indentation in the door handle with my forefinger and it locks every time.

The tailgate works quite consistently if I swing my leg on the left side of the license plate and allow my toe to tap the undertray about the length of my foot under the car.

The frunk lid is another matter as I can get it to respond less than 50% of the time; maybe I don't have the gesture down properly. In the meantime, in public I just use the key as it is 100% reliable and I don't look like an idiot stroking the front of the car.

Mine works 100% of the time. I simply touch the dimple with the tip of my finger.
My Taycan works 100% of the time, it may be a tad bit too sensitive. My 992 on the other hand is about 50/50.

Interesting, I will try touch and hold and see how well it works...

The foot kick bit I only try once, then I just reach out and press the button :)

Now if only I could get the trunk to open using the foot swipe dance. That one has never worked from day one.
The trick to the trunk is to "kick the monsters", extending your foot back-to-front under the rear bumper, not a side-to-side swipe. It works pretty consistently for me that way.

I really wish the Taycan would automatically unlock when you approach, and lock as you walk away. This is how other modern cars do it (like BMW, Mercedes, and Tesla) and it’s just so much better.

It does at least do the former, with Comfort Access enabled.

Ah, thank you! This is indeed the magic sequence that works consistently.

Move foot in not too fast right under the plate, hold for half a second then remove and wait. It takes it a second to realize something happened.

Yep. Where did the swiping thing come from? I've never had a modern Porsche w/comfort access where swiping door handles is the feature. Always touch.

I find that ALL the touch features on the Porsche are terrible, locking doors via handle, opening trunk by kicking, opening frunk by finger swipe. Even opening the power ports takes a few times. I gave up on the rear trunk/frunk.

I found the door handles only work about 50%, I push, sometimes the rear door will work when the front doesn't. I mostly use the FOB. Sadly so many features on this car that cost a lot of money are worth $0. I'm very upset with Porsche and this car. My first Porsche and I'm soured to the brand.
I never use any of these features.
  • Charge flap open via button on center console
  • Trunk open via button or key fob
  • pull out door handle to open doors
Really a reason to be upset?

Well if you paid for the charge flap, I'd be upset. The key fob is also a minor but noticeable inconvenience because you either have to feel around for the right button when it's in your pocket, or you have to fully take out the fob and look at it in order to press the right button. Since I leave my keys in my pocket when I drive, I like being able to get out of the car and just walk away (after touching door to lock) without having to fiddle with the keyfob.

Never tried this, my car is usually so dirty, I don't dare to touch it.

So the comfort access is the setting that enables lock when walking away? I am experiencing trouble with the automatic lock when walking away, however car consistently unlocks when I approach.
