Steering Wheel Paddles Live on Configurator

I am on the Configurator and the Paddles are now live. I am not sure if anyone noticed this already, but this is the first time I am seeing this as this was supposed to be a 2027 option. No information in the Standard Equipment what these Paddles do but we know these are to Simulate Gear Shifts. Also, a Note that Wheel Heating not available for this setup.

I test drove a GTS last month with this. RaceTex only.

it says the paddles are for activating attack mode and setting energy recovery ... no mention of them being for (simulated) gear shifts.

In the etron I used the paddle shifters frequently to adjust energy recovery, while others never use them.

As I said, this was an option on the GTS. The car I drove had the left paddle set up to switch between the different regen modes: off, auto, weak, strong… The right paddle activates more power “attack mode”. I was told they could be reprogrammed.

Unfortunately I can’t get into the configurator now as it’s giving me an “Unexpected Server Error”.

Taycan Paddles: Left regen off/on, Right Paddle Attack Mode off/on

Audi Etron GT: Left Paddle regen, 2 steps to max regen, Right Paddle 2x to no regen (coast). Audi has 2 levels of regen compared to Tayans that is off/on

It is so annoying if the paddles are ordered, heat function is cancelled, not available. So either paddles or heating.

I just got a 2025 GTS with this wheel, and although the right paddle activates 10 sec attack mode (same as push-to-pass I think), I can't seem to tell that the left paddle does anything. Coming out of my Audi Etron S, the left paddle would trigger regeneration as described by previous poster. This doesn't happen on my GTS.

Engage the left paddle and look on the instrument cluster to see if regen on is on. It’s very subtle so you might not feel it.

If I remember correctly, at least on the GTS, you can't have the paddles and Innodrive. It is one or the other.

No Taycan can have Innodrive and the paddles. The Turbo GT comes standard with the 2 paddles, but its removed when adding Innodrive

I think they are designed to emulate gear changes. So flipping the paddles increases or decreases the level of regen which simulates engine braking differences between gears in an geared car. The IONIQ5N started the trend AFAIK. BICBW
