Yeah, its one of those things that you can't get around to some degree - like stick, hard to find a stick shift performance car, but what doesn't make sense to me is changing "gears" in a car without a gearbox. Just like a sound that isn't real vs. amplifying a sound so its louder in the cabin for a sportier feel.

Gears were needed, whether manual or auto, to make up for the deficiencies in ICE power delivery....

Ironically both were just reaching a real peak when electric power trains came and pissed on their chips

The Lucid air, Taycan, Etron GT, Model S all have a more sleek look. This one might have more headroom, but its doesnt look as good

Years ago Porsche attempted to make a 4-seat / 4-door 911 (though perhaps 928 might be a better reference): Google "Porsche 989". Ultimately, this work spawned the Panamera.

The current ICE 3-series and M3/M4 aren’t as low/sleek as the cars you mentioned either, but they’re also a class smaller than those cars, which at least partly explains it.

BMW is building quite the electric pedigree. This is totally on my list though I can’t justify switching cars so quickly. That said, life’s short… if the reviews are stellar, it’s gonna be hard to resist.
