Advice on cost to refurb a curbed RS spider 21” Matt black alloy

Hey,

did a search but nothing coming back

I’ve just had a quote come back to refurb the above wheel at £399. From basic google searches, this was a lot more than I was expecting. Appreciate it’s not a 18” silver alloy, so more work goes in to it, but still…

wheel is not bent etc, it is scuffed around the entire lip of the alloy and was done a very low speed (NCP car park).

wanted to check with you guys if I’m wrong or not and what others have had experienced?

I just had mine done at a local place (UK, North Essex).

A kerbed and bent wheel, properly stripped back and powder coated was £125. I think straightening it out cost something like £30-£40 of the total.

Will post some photos over the next few days - only just had them done and haven't had chance to put them on yet

Yeah that’s a high price.

I paid $200/wheel to have my Spyders stripped and painted.

Where are you located.

I use Bespoke Alloys in Denham, just west of London. They do a full strip an powder coat/lacquer for £96 inc vat. They do a lot of Porsche cars plus have contracts with Marinello for Ferrari and Bentley

Why not try repairing yourself, I have Satin Black Spyder wheels and they are so easy to repair, a good detailed sanding machine some body filler for any large holes and a spray can of Satin paint and lacquer and job done , I had a curb scratch for a third of the wheel and I challenge anyone to spot it.

£90-£110 per wheel for power coat. Is the normal in and around London

I had same wheel done in Bredbury near Stockport for £110, excellent job.

UK - had a front Spyder done for £100. This was to acid dip and strip old paint, then powder coat. Excellent finish with a perfect match to the other wheels.

I paid £148 for a diamond cut repair so satin should be cheaper
