Carbon aerodiscs on rear wheels
Rear wing and front diffuser are adjustable (low or high downforce setup)

Max discharge current increased from 1,100 → 1,300 amps
System power output up 20 kW → 600 kW total
Max torque (Launch Control) up 30 Nm → 1,270 Nm
Attack Mode boost increased to 130 kW (10-second burst)

Optional road-legal track tires (Pirelli P ZERO Trofeo RS): 4 cm wider at front, 3 cm wider at rear

The most awesome Taycan ever! But, then again, who tracks their Taycan, a four door grand touring EV? Go Manthey a GT3 for that, please.

I mean, to clarify, that I'm glad they did it, if only so that brands X, Y, and Z will stop claiming that their EVs are "faster than Porsche". But nobody should buy one.

It's marketing and shows the teams capabilities.

I'm interested in the suspension and steering tuning. Maybe the wheel and tire setup too.

I'm going to find out about that from my dealer

What's impressive is that its faster than every 911 Turbo S around the ring and almost every GT3.
It is very impressive, I agree. But I keep thinking: I'm all in on EVs, and my Taycan is perfect or everyting that I do with a car. But around the Ring, I'd rather be sitting in a GT3 regardless. Heck, I'd rather 'Ring a Cayman GT4.

It reminds me of another example. I used to drive a Jaguar XKR-175. Great GT car. Someone took an XKR (XKR-S actually), stripped it out, modified it tons, and bolted on more aero. They made it into a "better" Jaguar for the track, as measured by lap times, but they made it an objectively worse Jaguar XKR overall.

I 100% agree, I would rather be in any manual transmission 911 around a track.

I'm estimating it will be at least $100k for parts. Hard to stomach that with a Taycan

I believe the taycan GT was good for 2 laps at nuburing, so i assume with this kit, it's 1 lap and done?

Impressive indeed, but mostly pointless. If they could achieve this sort of downforce with active aero only, so you can disengage it on normal roads, that would be more impressive and tailored to the car being a EV

I suspect that 3rd party shops will be able to offer these tunes before long, and the pads are likely 3rd party ones. So a "cheap" "20% manthey kit?" 😂

The stupid battery weight penalty is the issue, no way around it.

You're probably right about the downforce.

In Sport Plus it's already a clearance nightmare. If the steering and suspension tuning was just in Sport plus I would do it. It needs to be a little more firm

Battery was about 50% at the finish.
Very impressive to see what a taycan can be capabel of
