Porsche’s configurator is not complete, for as shown below they do not even show the tire sizing, though we have separately learned that that specific wheel has narrower treads than most 21” Taycan wheels, e.g., the Aero Design 21” wheels instead come with 245/285 tires instead of 265/305’s.

When the Taycan J1.2 configurator first came out it listed the 21” all season tires as a selectable option, but that option was quickly removed. Does that mean that now all Taycan 21” wheels, and specially the Aero Design 21” ones now come standard with A/S tires (EXCEPT when one separately selects summer tires as an option in the separate “tire” section”)?

Thank you.

I think when I configured my J1.2 last year, that is how it was. Summer as default and I opt’d for AS. I see it on my spec sheet as a zero dollar selection. It’s for the 21” CT Design wheels.
Seems like the 21” Aero Wheels are the only wheels that don’t list tire sizes and are half an inch narrower on rim widths. Winter sets still run the wider tires.

Good information. I also believe that the 21” Aero Design wheels are 1/2“ narrower than the rest of the 21” wheels — which makes sense as its 245/285 tires are similarly less..

Just got Porsche confirmation that the 21“ Aero Design wheels are not factory available with all season tires, e.g. ony with summer or summer high performance ones.

As A/S tires are what we need and having a second set of wheels and tires would be for us expensive and a PIA, were are going to happily select 21” RS Spyder’s instead.

I don't think Porsche have n-rated all season or winter tyres in 21", regardless of width (the aero ones, new to the J1.2 are half an inch narrower. That and the narrower tyres, and possibly the tyre brand/model, helps range a good bit).

The RS style wheels are oft regarded as the worst choice for range. But they look the best of all of them IMO.

Here is confirmation that with the 21” RS Spyder wheels on a Taycan can come from the factory with all-season tires at least as an option. This Taycan is less than three months old, though verification that it is still accurate for a new ordered now would of course be smart.

Updating for accuracy, for my above post while true when I posted it (that is the actual window sticker for that car still for sale at Porsche Beaverton ), with factory A/S tires back then being orderable, no longer can you get any Porsche approved 21” all seasons on a newly ordered Taycan. e.g. option Q77 for all seasons for 21” Taycan wheels is no longer.

Thankfully the Conti RX are still avaialble as replacement A/S’s, e.g., with as most know their having the Porsche Taycan NFO rating.

What tires do Porsche use for all seasons on the 21 RS Spyder wheels?

Conti ProTact RX A/S’s in 265/35 and 305/30’s that are Porsche approved.. There are no Porsche approved tires A/S tires for the 21” Aero Design 245/285’s — though Goodyear F1 A/s are avaible for the Aero Design wheels. And there are Porsche approved summer tires for the 21” Aero Designs wheels.

Here’s an interesting “all season” option, ND0 (Panamera e hybrid turbo S spec sized):
