Looking to import a European-spec'd Taycan CT4 to USA

Does anybody here know if it might be possible to buy a Taycan in, say Norway (where I have relatives who could buy it for me and then transfer title to me -- I'd be the one actually paying), and have it shipped to the US? I know that there were customs issues on ICEVs because of engine emissions for the US, vs. Europe, but I've not heard what "issues" might prevent a Taycan from being imported personally (other than the type of charge port). Porsche has discontinued the Turismos in the US for model year 2027, and I'm very keen on getting a CT4 spec'd with an all-metal roof (something that has always been possible in Europe but not in the US).

I'm assuming that non-ICE things in Porsches would not be an issue for customs/importing. The big issue is the charge port (different for different plugs in Europe vs. North America); I was wondering if Porsche could put in an American charge port upon request at the factory, if I were to order a CT4 on a European special-order. I've heard that exterior light reflectors are different colors in Europe vs. USA, but presumably that could be modified if customs made it an issue. Does anybody know of any other reason that a BEV made in Europe could not be imported to the US? I'm having a hard time finding answers to this at the US Customs website.. I know that US-spec'd ICEVs can be bought via many automakers' European delivery program and that BEVs cannot be done that way because of the different charge ports. And, of course, US dealerships are no help with answers to questions like this.

Yep, you can forget about the tariff issues. The 800 pound gorilla killing this idea is that the OBC and charge ports are different.

I'd love to take factory delivery of a Taycan, but it just isn't possible to charge a US car in the EU, and vice-versa.

Porsche Canada still lists the CT4S in the configurator. It would be easier to import from Canada if you could still order in Canada. I have a R8 that was imported into the US from Canada.

Importation can be difficult when the car was never sold in the US in the first place. For example, if you purchased a 2026 CT in Canada importing wouldn’t be terrible because that vehicle was already sold in the US. Importing a 2027 CT may be more difficult since no 2027 CT was ever sold here.

This makes it a very different process from importing a car that was sold in the US for that model year.

EDIT: Doing some reading you MIGHT be able to get away with a Canadian car, but a vehicle from any other country will be difficult.

Honestly, finding a 2026 and getting the roof shipped from Europe is probably an easier option.

Can't do that. Plug and OBC in EU is different from North America.
