Do the majority of Porsche dealers handle PPF/ceramic coating/tinting? I didn't even know this is an option. And for those who do, do they actually have an in-house crew or do they just outsource the work? I'm curious how their work and price compare to the average shop.
+1 on 4 with more options.
If this was heavy-loaded 4S vs light-loaded GTS, I'd say getting the higher trim makes more sense, as you actually get a lot stuff "for free" with GTS (this applies to other Porsche models as well). Not really the case between 4 and 4S.
Resale value is a factor but I...
Thanks for the writeup! Really informative.
btw I’m a little surprised you got a premium/less common exterior color for a loaner. In my experience it’s always boring white or black.
I've heard 9 months, I've heard 18 months, and now I'm hearing 2 years. Doesn't look like any dealer actually has any insight and It's pretty much speculation and guessing at this point.
As others have mentioned, 2 years is a long time. Some of us might be driving a Macan EV in 2 years.
Ha, this is actually great to hear as a future CT4 owner! The bad and the ugly are either features I will order/get, or stuff I don't really care about in the grand scheme of things.
I ordered my 2021 Macan GTS from an IL dealer as a CA resident and took delivery in Dec 2021 (I had it shipped cross country). Market wasn't as crazy as now but was still pretty hot and they actually honored the 8% discount they initially promised! I also didn't have to register the car in IL...
Congrats! Car looks amazing.
BTW what's going on with people in UK getting bad collection experiences? https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/collection-day-experience.11216/
Hi there. I'm the captain of Team MD (Model Deletion) and how dare you proposing something so ridiculous!
JK :) I think this looks clean and sleek and I'd take it over the original.
That said, model deletion all day!
Surprised no one has brought up the lack of customization options with Tesla (sure you can do aftermarket mods but still), which Porsche happens to be really good at. I for one don’t want my car to look identical to 20% of the cars I see on the road here in Bay Area.
Why not put it up for sale or at least as a feeler? Genuine suggestion. Sounds like you really care about a car's tech/software, which isn't really where Porsche shines.
I personally don't quite like the slate grey interior color. Feels a little bit cheap. Full disclaimer: I haven't seen it in person and my only reference is the pic here: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/chalk-taycan-club.2642/page-7#post-40457

Awesome writeup!
EA having faulty chargers is nothing new. I actually wonder what would motivate them to make their infra better. The majority of EA customers probably have access to chargers at home/work on a daily basis and only utilize EA during road trips. If one charger doesn't work...
Depends on why they are financing. If they're stretching their budget then yes I'm with you 100%.
There're also people (myself included) that consider financing an investment. You invest your cash and hopefully get a higher return that the interest rate you get for your auto loan. Granted this...
Similar ADMs at Porsche Redwood City. $20K for a 4CT and $35K for a GTS sedan.
Unfortunately current market allows them to do that. At this point I'm just hoping the supply chain would get (drastically) better soon.
