Maybe bad news for those like me who haven't ordered their Taycans in Chalk yet: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/chalk-is-going-away-for-my23-cayenne-starting-oct-2022-will-it-also-be-discontinued-for-taycan.11821/
Looks like Chalk is going away as a special color and becoming PTS.
Don't know about other people/dealers, I can only share that I paid a deposit and joined a local dealer's waitlist for a CT 4 allocation in May and my position on the list hasn't moved at all after two months. Now did other people pay markups to cut in line? I have no idea.
For those dealer-spec'ed ones, does every dealer spec their own or is it more like Porsche [INSERT COUNTRY OR REGION] specs a bunch and distribute them across the dealers?
What are the advantages of after-market wheel mods over upgraded/painted wheels by Porsche?
1. More control on the exact look/style
2. Range/comfort of the 19-inch wheels
3. Could be cheaper?
Anything else I missed? I never thought about going with the default 19-inch wheels and getting mods...
Don't know about Taycan, but I have it on my Macan and imagine they won't be that much different. Cell reception is definitely still usable (phone calls, web browsing, video streaming) even with the glass.
+1.
Another option I can think of that requires a little bit more work is to actually post your car on various marketplaces as FEELERS and see what kind of offers you get.
Do we even know a facelift is going to happen (and if so for MY24)? I guess we can assume Porsche will treat Taycan just like their ICE cars, unless there's any reason not to?
I assume this is country and maybe even state specific, but for example in the US who/what is pushing EA and other providers to install more chargers? My naive thought is that by purchasing an EV, an average consumer is already contributing to this, as they're increasing the demand. Is it...
Ha! I feel black "PORSCHE" on a GTS kinda makes more sense because of the overall everything black theme? I can also see the argument for glacier blue to make it stand out and match your Neptune Blue exterior. Tough decision!
Are you also considering changing the LED headlights to glacier blue...
What do you guys think about "Light Strip with PORSCHE Logo in Glacier Blue" with Chalk exterior? Looks cool in picture but I haven't seen one in real life. Wondering if it's worth the extra $850.
The other option is "Light Strip with PORSCHE Logo in Black". I've actually seen this one in...
hmm with no real improvements and certain regressions as others have pointed out, I do wonder if it makes sense to wait a year for MY2024.
If Porsche handles Taycan like they do with their ICE cars, then MY2024 will be the 5th MY and a facelift would be very likely?
At the same time I also...
It all comes down to personal preferences. Questions I would ask myself if I were in a similar situation:
1. Do you need a new car immediately?
2. Would you also spec Black on White for your custom order CT4? Given you're seriously considering it, I assume you're at least ok with the colors...
