Official: Base Taycan (RWD) Unveiled. Pricing starts in U.S. at $79,900

That really is a tough call, as there are several conflicting trends. The base version is ~100kgs lighter, which means less energy consumption. Also it is 2WD, so less friction in the frontal wheels, they just rotate, but don't rotate a driveshaft / transmission to the motor. On the other...

I took my Huracan out after 2 months....I missed the Taycan

My Corvette C7 has been in the extra garage now for a long time. Probably the car battery is dead by now. I was there today for other reasons, and I didn't even bother to check the C7's state... EVs/the Taycan are from a different planet. And ten years down the road, they will have batteries...

    Other Hobbies

Too many that I only remember but don't do... in a year like 2020, getting the business through Covid and keeping the family happy dominated everything. But I like to tinker with these jets. They are not expensive and allow endless ways of setting them up differently, tuning them or trying new...

20 inch wheels on a Turbo S? (Winter Wheels)

Thank you. Widholzer, the company who did the wheel exchange, who had also found and proposed the wheel type, were very ambitious. It was the first wheel for a Taycan they did and they wanted to make it look just right. So they bought the hub caps on eBay. I thought that was a nice gesture.

    Taycan battery pack swappable?

Yep. AFAIK: Essentially the battery pack is one big flat unit (except for the "Performance Battery Plus"-part, which is more convoluted, geometrically), that is bolted onto the bottom of the car frame with about 30 screws and connected with a few connectors: HV, heat exchange and sensor/control...

20 inch wheels on a Turbo S? (Winter Wheels)

Thank you, and yes, strange timing. Literally a snowflake fell onto the milk foam of a Latte Macchiato that I was drinking - due to Corona - outside of the wheel shop. Strange times indeed.

Depreciation of the price in Germany (/Europe)

Your 50% in 3 years sound about right. But it is guesswork. If there will be much nicer batteries available, less than it. If batteries will be just a bit better (10-20%), it will still be doing alright, as it drives so well - my guess.
