I guess it's possible there's some room for misunderstanding...
Rodeo's post earlier noted:
"... They have advised that a WTG1 campaign has been launched, which involves the reprogramming of the over-the-air (OTA) software and the central computer. This update is expected to resolve the...
Ditto.
But the way they go about this will determine whether it's a proper fix or a bodge job.
I suspect we'll be told nothing definitive/official. But will be interesting to see what we get.
The way they handle s/w issues is piss poor. It could be a massive force for good, but their bean...
You'd had no issue with the lights before this?
Why did you pay the £1500 the first time round?
Assuming no other details missing, I'd have refused and been very clear there was no issue before the car went in and so it was on them.
That it's happened twice suggests no coincidence.
I...
I'm getting a whiff from that latter wording that they've either doctored the latest J1.2 version or created a Frankenstein's monster from the last J1.1.
If so, I wouldn't hold out much hope that they haven't borked something else, or that we'll then never see another update for J1.1 cars, them...
Have been running Ion Evo on my J1.1 for a while. Extremely good tyres.
Good grip and feel, wear well and are a lot quieter than the NF Goodyears (better than those in every way).
I'd be inclined to get the s/w upgraded. As per chun's list I think there were issues with earlier iterations even on J1.2 but think they were largely resolved.
The issue for J1.1 cars is Porsche not allowing those later releases to be installed.
Could be wrong, but would be interesting to...
I think because of notional reported incidence....
Very few people with fully updated J1.2 cars seem to have reported the same symptoms. Lots of J1.1 owners have.
Does your car suffer the same symptoms, and is it on the very latest PCM version? (Genuine question as I was hoping Porsche might...
Porsche currently sending me "exclusive opportunities" to change mine... Apparently demand is strong for used Taycans.
I doubt strong enough to make the cost to change even remotely attractive. Just like when Volvo do the same with the OH's car....no numbers given etc. Just flannel.
Passenger screen - am assuming there's someone sat in the passenger seat?
The Taycan logo is all you get when there isn't....
(I've never managed to make the two finger salute work on either screen... Possibly too fat fingers!).
1) is a current known issue. No fix from Porsche yet. Allegedly "June" but no official word.
Don't expect this to be fixed properly any time soon. I use Android Auto instead when reliable nav is needed. Some have had joy disabling the Porsche charging bit in the PCM (made no solid difference...
They evidently don't have the tech for that. Hence the sledgehammer to crack the nut and limiting everyone now.
It's a shame because for EV drivers it was a good deal. But people taking the piss with granny chargers (/throttling back EVSEs 😉) has forced their hand, it seems.
I guess they...
I'm going to be "that guy" but you do realise this sort of thing is why Octopus are throttling back on the additional cheap windows they allocate? Basically people gaming their system.
I'd like to think other suppliers will step in to keep the market competitive, but with energy prices being...
This is another area where if Porsche gave us the latest J1.2 PCM s/w it would fix the idiotic way they did this in J1.1 (programmed by someone who had never used an EV for more than 5mins).
When getting my car onto Octopus Intelligent Go, I wiped all charge profiles and timers. OIG connected...
