"Huge Fire Sparked by a Mercedes-Benz EV Adds to Safety Concerns Dogging Industry" - WSJ article

Unfortunately the fire that happened in the basement parking in Korea was caught on CCTV and it showed the Merc self combust and started a floor wide fire involving 127 cars. Apparently the EQE was using a 2nd tier battery company called Farasis Energy and not those 1st Tier battery companies...

My new 2025 Taycan Sport Turismo Turbo with Active Ride -- first impressions & photos

Thanks. Was thinking between the Hankook Ion Evo and the Michelin PS4 but was worried that it’s not NF0.

    Battery Module Replacement Begins

There is a global recall on the brake hose. Apparently the one they used previously (which covers almost all the Taycans they sold) is prone to cracking. They will be replacing it with parts that would be more flexible and less prone to cracking.

Seal rubbers on doors are turning green

Happens to all the Taycan in my country. Dealer will replace. Porsche used rubbers that can’t handle humidity. I’ll probably send in and changed mine when the car turns one.

Kyle Conner goes 311 miles in '25 Taycan 70mph range test

I think the 251 miles done with the CT4 was before the major 2023 software update. Porsche says that the 2023 software update added an extra 9.3% of range so you’re looking at 270 miles after the software update. The J1.2 has a bigger battery - by 16% so that should make the range increase to...

Kyle Conner goes 311 miles in '25 Taycan 70mph range test

Yeah .... I think the software update in 2023 increased the CT4 range to almost 270-275 miles. The new J1.2 now has a net battery of 97 kWh vs the J1 of 83.7 kWh, the battery increase itself is already close to 16% which would give a similar increase in range of about 320 miles .... and...

    Battery at 51k miles

Get an OBD II dongle and plug it in the OBD II port underneath the dash. Install the Car Scanner app, and you can see everything you need know about your car (SoH, each individual cell voltage etc etc). The Taycan comes with an 8 year battery warranty and I believe that it guarantees the SoH to...

🔋 Baseline for HV Battery SoH Performance (Battery Degradation Data by Taycan Owners)

    Here’s mine. 8 month old Taycan 4 CT. 14.6k KM (around 9k miles). I would say I live in a hot country. Average temperature around 30-32 degrees Celcius all year long. SoH at 91.06% 1) Unknown 2) 91.06% 3) 14616 km 4) 80/20 AC/DC - I keep a spreadsheet. 5) 8/2023

Questions About Taycan Range and Charging

Completely normal. When I got my car, the range was 180 miles. Was a bit shocked but I read about regen not activated until the brakes are bedded and GoM being GoM so I was relieved. Now after 8k miles, my GoM is saying 275 miles for a full charge with the way I drive.

Unreliable statistics in MyPorsche trip data

I am having the same problem. Since charging 9878 km and Odometer was 10000 km. But the car suddenly added 132km that I cannot attribute to anything (I have an app that keeps track of my charging activity). So the trip data is off.

2 year ownership kWh Consumption Analysis

I am seeing the total km driven from the odometer and the km since charging totals that are different with one another. I keep a spreadsheet whenever I charge and there's discrepancy there as well (usually in terms of km travels and usually off by 1-2 km) but there have been cases where it is...

    85% Minimum Charge Not Working

We don’t have peak or off peak tariff where I am from so I basically just setup a profile for a minimum charge of 85% and it has been honored everytime. I do not have a timer setup but last week, I was charging at a hotel and I setup a timer to charge my car to 100% at 9:15AM as I was going home...

The Science and Math - Battery Charging

Yeah, I followed the video by Prof Dahn. Now switching to lower the charging depth. Previously I charge from 30-85%, now charging everyday (79-85%). Porsche says 85%, Dahn and a lot of other experts says 80%. Was doing 80% before and then went to 85% after reading the manual. Now thinking of...
