Maybe, but I ordered a Macan just after the debut in LA a few yrs ago and as I recall there was only the configurator going live around the time of the debut as with the 992. I can’t see Porsche releasing images and specs to 20000+ people prior to a big world premier IMO.
I’m with you but given the history of configurators going live a day or two after the debut, I.e. 992 in LA I’m betting 14 September. Hope I’m wrong though
Great work with the silhouette. We’re exactly 6 mos away from the debut @ Frankfurt. Press Days, 9/11-9/12. Let’s talk colors. What is your preference? I’m guessing the initial selection will be somewhat limited and similar to the recent 992 release. The mules in Sweden look to be Miami...
I agree completely. Oliver Blume was interviewed yesterday in Geneva confirming what we all guessed: Taycan will debut in Frankfurt in September. I presume the configurator will be live shortly thereafter. Six months is a long long time.
And it goes deeper than that. The prediction is a 50% drop in sales for German makers and an overall loss of 350000 auto related jobs. In other words another Trump cluster****
I’m afraid you’re right. Trump is a moron and he will certainly seize on this issue. He claims buying Porsche’s and MB is a threat to National Security. We’re living in Alice’s Wonderland here in the US
I’m an active member of this forum, #27 on the list at my dealer in Chandler Az. I share the excitement and anticipation of this bold move by Porsche. But a headline in today's LATimes gives me serious pause : Trump has 90 days to decide on possible 25% tariff on autos from EU manufacturers...
It’s about mass production, aerodynamic concerns and economy of scale. Name one concept car that made it to production unchanged outside the hypercar world. It’s just not feasible to transfer 100% of the features to a production car. Besides Blume said the final car resembles the concept...
TG, I agree completely. I think we’re seeing the final car with a black wrap over Miami Blue and Lava Orange. The vertical slits at the headlight assembly are there, the taillights will likely be the same. I’m happy as well. I can’t wait
I agree. The mules are taking shape as the production models although they are still completely wrapped in black, obstensibly hiding some styling details. I think it will be very similar to the prototype when all is said and done.
If you look closely you’ll notice one of the mules is actually Miami or Voodoo Blue. The other looks like Lava Orange under the black wrap. Interesting choices. September in Frankfurt is going to be very cool.
