What color is the Turbo? It doesn’t look like Frozen blue. I see no shadows, no sun, so presumablyt the white balance is off on these pictures and everythting is muted and colored by the overcast sky lighting.
Ha Ha. The Turbo GT drops the ugly turbonite and goes back to colored crests on the hood and wheels! It’s like they’re hoping Turbo buyers will skip past Turbo and Turbo S and go directly to Turbo GT to avoid turbonite!
Attack Mode? Well, ok so the invertors are higher spec. But there’s...
OK, I‘ll bite…
Porsche FAILED, repeat FAILED to deliver in the J1.II refresh. Clearly, the lacked the guts to go through with proposed option…
PIP (Porsche Interceptor Package), known internally as “The Pip”.
You get everything pictured from the this clip obtained during testing:
Honkin’...
In my experience with the configurator, the rim color options only apply to the Mission-E rims. The 21” Spyders can be gloss black or “original” with the polished metal spokes, but no other option. No color options for the 20” rims or the 21” aero rims.
By the way, I discovered that if you select the “delete model designation from rear”, the “electric” badge on the door disappears on the configurator. And it’s a no-cost options.
Anyone getting allocations? I’m still waiting and nothing seems to be happening.
I don’t love the new turbonite wheels. I have matte black wheels on my M5 and I’ve grown to dislike the “black hole” effect at each wheel well.
Actually, I don‘t really like any of the Turbo wheels that much, but the Turbo Aero 20” is my front runner. I like the shiny accents against the...
Aren’t those the old J1.I headlights, just like on the black painted and winged prototype seen in the all the spy photos and the Plaid Ring laptime beating video?
And if so, does that mean Porsche still hasn’t built anything besides this one prototype if they haven’t updated the headlights and...
I can’t find it but there was reported I think on this forum and I recall that an NHTSA complaint was filed and I believe the link to it was posted (because I read it) about a Taycan that reversed uncontrollably after “starting” in the owner’s driveway, could not be braked or stop reversing, and...
Video jumped fine to 10:25 for me. Wow, the center console lid is awkward. And I didn’t know the rear armest / cupholder on Taycan can’t be used as an armrest.
Didn’t Porsche learn from the whole Cayenne teaser in the dark with smoke and headlights not to do that lest they set themselves up for comments like that the car must be so ugly they don’t want anyone to see it? I guess noone is working at Porsche who still remembers.
This is the essential nugget here.
While my interest in this subject has waned, I understand this is a hot topic for some people, and they are more than welcome TO DISCUSS IT IN DEDICATED DEPRECIATION THREADS.
Please, no more hijacking and insertion of depreciation into every thread on this...
Using this silly Star Wars “Stormtrooper” analogy, I think the J1.II revised turbo front end looks more like an Imperial Stormtrooper than the .I which is so revered. The stormtrooper helmet is not all smooth, there are bumps and protrusions and vents. The gaps or lines around the vent funnels...
Didn’t the promo video about doing the hot laps around the ’Ring admit that there was currently no fast charging at the track, and that Porsche had to bring their own generator and charger?
And didn’t the 1 hour Lucid Air Sapphire video that went on about how the handling is modeled after great...
EDIT: added link to Porsche Panamera PAR brief that mentions relative weight
It’s funny how negative a lot of people are generally is about this innovative new feature. I’m not thinking twice about checking this box, I want that. It sounds corny, but I think this is the start of the future...
I think the reason is that it’s rarely used in US homes. Most EVSE’s that are cost effective max out at 40W or 48W, and you can match that with the lower spec Taycan charger. To go above it starts to become a very expensive home install, with a breaker that may not be accomodated in the...
So there is no difference in the pinout, just the connector was thicker or something? It would be nice to see some pictures of the parts and the connectors.
