As the battery in the Taycan is architectured in a modular way, I wonder whether it'd be feasible in the future to replace the individual modules with newer tech ones, rather than the whole battery.
Oh wow, something I didn't know and which sounds very interesting. Will definitely try it tomorrow! Thanks for sharing this!
About auto-regen, I've tried it but maybe I haven't really understood it.
I always drive with regen off. It bothers me to think that regen is unnecessarily slowing the...
I think what I'd miss most is missing on the PCM maps updates. I purchased my Taycan used, and PCM only began updating maps after I purchased the Connect Services package.
I do personally use the native PCM maps for longer trips, as I find it does a good job at planning the charging stops. So I...
You are right, I stand corrected.
I have checked again, and indeed, the 11 kw OBC comes as standard, and there seems to be no option for a 22 kw OBC anywhere.
I guess it's one of those things that I'd need to try out to feel the benefit of it first hand.
I just have the feeling that, in the greater scheme of things, carrying the fob around is the lesser of all nuisances. But hey, I certainly wouldn't say NO to my CT getting this feature OTA!
So the assumption is that 22kw OBCs will be back in stock eventually? I thought they were completely phased out.
That would be great news. Hopefully they'll bring a new batch with an improved reliable design.
That's precisely what I fail to grasp. I have never used my phone as a key, but what is the net benefit of it? Not having to carry the fob around? Or is it more the safety net of being able to open your car in case the fob gets locked inside? The latter shouldn't be an issue, though, as the...
From what I've gathered, charging to 100% isn't the issue. The issue is when you keep your battery with a high charge for a long period of time. And even worse when the environment temperature is high.
So if you intend to leave on a trip tomorrow, and you charge the car to 100%, that isn't a...
Old hanger wire to fish it out.
Also, for those matters, I got this little thing.

Served me well with my old Macan.
I suspect that's the holder for the front swiss plates. Dimensions are specified here:

According to this article, the "eighth" Charging lounge was opened this summer. So definitely more than 2:

There’s one in Nyon, Switzerland. That said, I have never used one yet. I simply saw the option to enable the plate number and to create an access QR code in the app, and assumed that would work also for destination chargers at the dealerships.
Actually, my cameras exhibit precisely that behaviour. For the most part, they work. But there are cases where it seems that the whole system fails to initialise, and so they remain black even while engaging reverse.
So I believe the symptoms fit what you describe. Is this a recall covered...
In My Porsche app, I was able to configure both an access QR code, and my plate number, to open gates at Porsche charging lounges. I assumed this was the standard process.
That's indeed the risk of spacing the two screens further apart.
On a second look, though, it might be possible to "sandwich" a bezel with the new protective screen between the camera and the bumper plastic trim. It looks like the bumper trim simply "meets" the camera without clipping to it...
Considering that the trim part in the bumper where the camera is placed is of conical shape, perhaps a good approach would be to source a germanium window of a larger diameter, and place it further out than the original camera.
That, of course, would require bumper modifications to keep it in...
