Linking Profile to a Particular Key

I'll have to go back and try and get this working again in ours. I did the whole "keep one key 50' away" and switch back and forth until it was properly picking up the profile and setting the seat location to the correct key. That lasted about 5 days and now it still goes to the correct...

    Are 14 way seats comfortable?

I'd test drive, as seat preference seems really subjective person to person. As a data point we wanted the massage function so got the 14 way and we couldn't be happier. We've cranked out 8-10 hour days on road trips and think they're really comfortable. I've tried the 18 way and found them...

test drove a Hummer EV this past weekend

I'd think that one consideration would be this: " ..can do 300 miles of distance at highway speeds, and has 800v charging speeds, has my mind wondering since half my Taycan driving is long distance highway driving. " If it takes twice as much battery to get near 300 miles range, then your...

The Ackermann effect / tire judder 20" vs 21"

In Seattle's weather we have no problem with this year round with the Conti All season tires it came with stock on the 21" Mission E's. I think we've experienced it maybe twice in 18 months on slick cement parking lots. We do lots of full lock turns getting in/out of our driveway and our...

How many wheels have you curbed?

Annoyingly twice. We have zero problems in daylight, but parking at night in the dark and heavy rain we get in Seattle, the side cameras just don't show enough. It'll kinda look like you're clear in what you can see, and then the grunch. Luckily we have a great wheel repair guy who is mobile...

    Heater failed 21 Taycan

Nothing to "diagnose." The original heaters, all 9 revisions of them that were built before Feb 2023, fail every 12-24 months on average. My last failure was 11/7/2022. That replacement failed 11/9/2023. Luckily the dealer had one of the new design post 2/23 heaters in stock and put that...

Broken DC Flap Causes Bad Charging Day

Thanks for exploring things like this and reporting on the results. It's a great feedback loop for us all to avoid oddities caused by a small piece of plastic in the future.

    Jack mode lock out duration

Mine has always stayed in jack mode until you fire it up and put it in drive or reverse. Even on somewhat extended stays on the Quick Jack while ceramic coating the wheels.

How do you clean your Taycan

Agree with all of the above except for towel drying. Like the poster above with the leaf blower idea, I got tired of even the most carefully curated drying towels causing micro-scratches, so a couple of years ago I switched to blower drying. Yes, you can use leaf blowers, but I personally...

    2020 Taycan vs 21/22

Having done the research myself before we bought a CPO'd '20. The other difference specific to that year, they changed the PSCB front brakes for 2021 onwards. The 2020's have a unique larger disc and 10 piston caliper on the front. You might care if you keep the car a long time and it needs...

    Wall Charger Recommendation

Every charger listed above is good, but we went with Chargepoint specifically because of the cable flexibility and the size/shape/heft/ease of use of the charging handle. I shouldn't make that big if a difference, but we found plugging in every day that we really prefer the chargepoint design.

    Rear spoiler warped and repair?

W1NGE, Thanks! that's exactly it. Weather around here as been near/below freezing recently, so makes sense it is a materials expansion mismatch in the spoiler. Annoying... Thanks for adding data to the saga!

Any concerns with buying a CPO 2020 4S??

Stolen from multiple sources on the web, I clipped the following text: "Porsche has made changes to the optional Porsche Surface Coated Brakes (PSCB) for 2021. The discs themselves are 0.2 inches smaller, yet still enormous at 16.1 inches across. The front calipers are now six-piston affairs...

    Rear spoiler warped and repair?

Our 2020 4s just recently had the spoiler deform in an odd way. The outer edges are now raised and are obviously proud of/above the rear fender line. The center of the spoiler panel under the rear window is now below the edge in the center. So it's bowed down in the center and up on both the...

Any concerns with buying a CPO 2020 4S??

That's exactly what we did, found a 2020 4S CPO that met our needs (and in many cases exceeded them) It already had the PCM upgrade. The only thing we gave up was plug and charge, and we don't miss it, as we don't road trip all that often so 95% of our charging is at home. If yours has the...

21" front as "emergency spare" on rear?

Has anyone ever driven (not just mounted) a 21' stock wheel on the rear for a 4s or higher? I'm thinking of picking up 1 extra front to use for any front/rear tire incidents. A past car didn't have a spare and with non-runflat 20-21" tires, it was susceptible to flats from bad roads. A...

    Heavy right foot club

We found our Taycan used. It had lived life in the LA area for its first 24 months/11k miles. The "all up" trip report showed 3.4m/kwh. We've somehow gotten the overall average down to 3.2m/kwh in the 2,000 miles we've put on it. :CWL: Our most recent road trip down to the Oregon coast...
