Our Taycan has a race-tex steering wheel with a leather interior, and we love it. I've also got the same combo in my M4.
We found this one used, but when we order a new spec we'll do the same.
The part they're currently using to fix the issue "PAD-963-507" has a listing in Porsche dealer's parts catalogues as "Replaces 9J1-963-507-D."
If you google the earlier part number you'll also see references to 9J1963507C, and 9J1963507E.
So it looks like there have been a few versions...
Sorry I didn’t reply sooner as to the question of if they had to drain coolant. Yes, in the work order there is a line item for “Coolant drained and filled”
No “cause”. As seen in this thread the high voltage heater seems to be a common failure point with Taycans.
As a point of reference, our heater died Oct 28th
Nov 7 - dropped off at dealer
Nov 9 - diagnosed and parts ordered
Nov 18th - parts arrived
Nov 29th - repairs completed and picked up
Now there was the week of thanksgiving in there that impacted repair work after the part arrived, But it at...
The color itself is nice, and would pair well with green tones. Our personal preference issue when we had an option of a volcano grey with truffle brown used inventory was that it is brown *everywhere* inside the cabin. Even though we’d seen pictures, we hadn’t quite mentally processed how...
We love ours, but the seat position not being consistent with which key fob opened the car is a pain.
I can be the only one near the car and it’ll still not set to my position about 1/4 of the time it’s unlocked with either the fob button or comfort access. It’s worse when both fobs are near...
As a recent real-world data point, we just left our car in a friends garage for 17 days while on vacation, not plugged in to an EVSE. Starting SoC 80%, ending when we picked it up, 79%.
Do people understand that the Taycan does energy recovery every time you touch the brake pedal to slow down even in coasting mode? It’s got one of the best blended braking systems out there.
To the question of coasting mode versus recuperation mode over 100 miles….
Coasting mode = when you...
The 2020 models don't support plug and charge. Also, it's a minor note, but the PSCB brakes that the Turbo has were bespoke for the 2020 model year. In 2021 they changed them to a smaller caliper with 6 pistons instead of the 10 piston in the 2020. (noted because the turbo you linked has...
We have a ChargePoint flex and love it. It’s a small detail, but the car side plug seems easier to use than other chargers. We tried a few different evse’s at friends houses and found the weight being slightly heavier while being more compact, and the cord flexibility and handle shape to be...
I absolutely love my quick jack. And yes, I just keep it on the floor in the center of the garage bay. If I used the bay more for other things with the car absent, I’d probably hang them on the wall, but the car is over them all the time.
Makes it so easy to swap wheel sets, do deep cleaning...
Do people not have the perspective change button on the upper screen when the rear view camera is operating? If I don’t want the fisheye, I just touch that and it morphs to a normal perspective.
The fastest way that I know of is to hit the mode button on the bottom side of the control stalk and then select or unselect the active lane keeping option in the menu that pops up in the left display.
I'm pretty sure it's an EA thing related to something in the 350kw chargers. We've been doing a bit of EA charging while I wait for parts to install our home evse. The 350's have randomly given me 65kw, and switching to a 150kw next to it will see 140-155kw. Two other times switching from...
hah! You think I put a lot of effort into the correct watts value from an eel? ?. I was looking at generic electric eel outputs, probably picked one that gets angry at a much lower voltage.
Lol…. It seems they produce about 1 amp per discharge, or about .12kw. Your issue is going to be that it’s a defensive “shock discharge” and not a continuous current. Might need thousands of them, and then some way to piss them off on a regular cadence.
