Weird. It doesn’t work that way at all for me. I only use a timer, with no profile, and I can leave my car for hours without unplugging it after the timer finishes.
I use the PMC+ that came with the car as my home charger that I use everyday. For travel, I purchased a much smaller, cheaper Mustart Travel Charger ($379). The various power pigtails (to use on other style of plugs) for the Mustart are only $50 each.
This seemed like a cheaper way to go...
Yes, using just a timer, the car will "back-calculate" when it needs to start to hit the desired SOC at your departure time. The time it calculates may be before your TOU low rate plan, but only if it needs to start early to hit the SOC. I would think that's a desired outcome - I would rather...
Hmmm, I don't understand that part in the good to know app either. I ONLY use a timer, and my car charges up to the specified SOC and then stops. In my case, I set the timer for the car to be ready at 5:30am at 85%. When I go out to leave in the morning (typically not until 6:30am), the car...
You can also just buy a J-1772 extension for $190 and extend the 8ft.

Completely agree. It's free, and it works great.
If you find you need something else in the future (wifi, or whatever), you can sell the PMC+ and buy something else that can do everything the "upgraded" PMCC could do and more. No need to waste the $1120 on the PMCC.
I will give you one more reason NOT to get the PMCC.
When you think about it, it's really even more expensive than the $1120 cost to get the PMCC. That's because you give up the free PMC+ (which is worth something.....$300? $500?).
You could get the free PMC+ and sell it, and then put that...
Tons and tons of great info in @daveo4EV thread here:

I was going to post something along these lines, but was afraid of the backlash I would probably get, lol.
I wouldn't fix it yet either. I would maybe try to touch it up a bit, but it looks very small. You will worry less about the next scratch as mentioned. Its the front bumper, so it's...
