traveling with my GTS in Canada - what adapter do I need to stay flexible

I do the same when traveling from the U.S. on Canadian road trips. Tesla Tap and bring my Tesla mobile charger with the multiple adapter set for various plug types. Useful to also download the Flo App for use at various Canadian EV charging companies.

Dreaded Red Error to New HV Battery in 12 Days!

Dealer said that they decided to get one of their own service technicians certified by Porsche in the HV battery technology & service, enabling them to do full repairs and replacements on the HV battery. Earlier they had to wait for one of the Porsche USA technicians to fly out and perform the...

Dreaded Red Error to New HV Battery in 12 Days!

I’m a lucky dog. The red battery error showed up requiring my 2020 Taycan 4S+, with 37,500 miles, to be towed to the dealer. Flatbed on a Sunday, diagnosed and reported to Porsche Germany on a Monday, with authorization and order for new HV battery the same day. Battery was delivered to the...

    Taycan Extended Warranty

Today I purchased a 96 month / 100,000-mile Porsche Platinum warranty with $250 Deductible from Porsche Chandler. I'll easily burn up near all the allowed miles given how many I've got on my 4S+ now. That covers other stuff aligned with the battery warranty duration and gives me time to continue...

    Taycan Extended Warranty

I was told last week by a local Porsche dealer that Porsche USA was not offering an extended warranty on the Taycan, only other models. I'm still under the factory warranty, so their published information says the vehicle qualifies. If someone has recently purchased a factory extension through...

Discount Tire, Evans, etc - concerns about servicing Taycan?

I've used the Northgate location and have had good results. I've used their online ordering and appointment scheduling.

Dreaded Red Electrical System Error & Poll

After the dealer sent the analysis to Porsche HQ in Germany, they need to replace the HV battery. I’ve voted in the 2020 category. I’m guessing this is going to be a long time with a loner, given the number of new and of undelivered Taycans needing the HV battery replaced…

Discount Tire, Evans, etc - concerns about servicing Taycan?

I've had a couple of sets replaced with a high mileage Taycan. Discount did the first set with excellent results including smart location of the wheel weights. I've used them for years on several cars, including for my 911. Other local shops may differ, however. Discount did a much better job...

Dreaded Red Electrical System Error & Poll

Will do! Clearly the majority have had no issues, but some good souls have waited months to get theirs fixed. Hoped to find out if a specific year was having trouble for science. It also appears individual HV cells had to be replaced as a fix, an electronic relay between the 800V and 12V needing...

Dreaded Red Electrical System Error & Poll

I had hoped I had escaped it, but my 2020 4S Performance has bricked with the dreaded red "Electrical System Error" notice. Tried the reboot over several days, other suggestions, etc., but to no avail. At 37,000 miles she was towed to the dealer today. At this dealer it will likely take several...

Is it easy to charge at Electrify America charging station?

Agree, look at Plugshare before you commit to an EA station, to not waste your time. My most recent PNW trip had 50% of the chargers offline at one EA location, and all offline at another. Also, suggest you don't trust the Taycan's navigation for EA charging station availability. Today my...

    What happens after 3 years?

I hit the 3-year mark earlier this month. The three years of no cost Connect ended and the renewal charge for one year of service in the U.S. was $319, plus local tax. No other renewal charges as other optional software was secured with vehicle purchase.

OTA Software Update (July 17, 2023)!

No email for my 2020 and the software indicates that it is "up to date" as of July 27th. Perhaps it is more complicated coding on the 2020's, but if they can't do it OTA, then let's hope they can offer it at the dealership.

    Deep scratch/dent. PNW recommendations pls.

I've used both Queen City and Eurotech. Queen City did an excellent job on a small scrape on my Taycan a couple of years ago. Color match was excellent. I've used Eurotech exclusively on my 964 for over a decade, including a complete repaint. They are excellent, if possible, make sure Mark...

OTA Software Update (July 17, 2023)!

It's a 2020 4S. No email yet, no notice in Porsche Connect, and PCM indicates all software up to date. Perhaps the early adopters are left out, or the update snuck in overnight!

How does your Taycan feel after 15-20K miles?

At 36K miles I've got front suspension creaks too at driveways off the street and similar locations. Had one on the passenger side and dealer said they "lubricated" it, solved it for a few months but now back on both sides. Other than that, it seems to get better with the miles and more fun!

Electrify America to Add NACS Connector by 2025, While Continuing CCS Support

I've been kicking around ordering a new 2024 but it hasn't been possible in the PNW to find a dealer that would accept an order. With this good news I'll just get an extended warranty on my 2020 and anticipate an order for a new 2025 GTS somewhere nationally. Lots of new choices by then, so...

    Squeaky Surface Coated Brakes

All, Over the past few weeks my 2020, 33,000-mile, 4S+ has developed nasty squeaking surface coated brakes. Appear to be the fronts. Anyone else had this issue, had it resolved by their dealer, or know of a link to a Porsche service bulletin? Applying oil probably not advised.... Thanks in...
