Agreed! Porsche isn’t the only car company that thinks we want an analog clock in our cars. I don’t get it. Just give me the digital time, and show it all the time. My BMW is annoying in another way, there are lots of situations where it doesn’t show the time at all.
Haha. That would be a software bug. In coding speak, 32767 is the highest value number you can store in a signed two byte variable, when the binary digits are all ones. Not cool that it could have a bug like that in production code.
Did you find any similar PPS products in your research? According to their website, the nearest clarity coat installer is 500 miles from me (I’m in Boston), so clarity coat isn’t an option for me.
If anyone has experience with a more widely available PPS product that you can get professionally installed, pls let us know! A quick google search just turned up a bunch of DIY products, which I’m not interested in.
Clarity coat looks nice! But there seem to be very few places that do it. Their website only lists 7 installers in the world, one of which is Auto Forensics, where tayc4n went.
The NAV in my 2011 BMW is much much worse than it was in my 2004 car. I guess it’s because of the HERE maps. For example, when I want to get on the highway heading south out of my town, the NAV wants me to get on the northbound ramp, drive up to the next exit, and then get off and on again on...
I have (finally!) received my VIN. Once you have your VIN, you can set up your account in the My Porsche app - correct? Because I am having some issues...
Firstly, when I input my VIN into My Porsche, it "thinks" for a bit, then displays a picture of a red Taycan (incorrect), and says 2020...
Ok, I give. How is this a safety issue? I can’t think of a situation where having the trunk beep improves safety. It’s not like it is going to hurt you if you “accidentally” close the trunk on your arm. And even if you were concerned about that, why would it need to beep when opening???
I did the same. I originally ordered a heavily optioned 4S, but when I realized how little extra a turbo would be with the same options, I changed my order to a turbo.
Once they have the V200, they should have all the dates (estimates). It's very easy for them to send you the screen above. My sales rep would just take a picture of it on his phone and text it to me.
My build finally finished - on 7/7. I actually had had my concerns escalated to PCNA support, and they told me that the delay was definitely not due to missing parts or anything like that. But I agree with you, that does seem like the likely explanation. It ended up being on the assembly line...
I just got an update. My car, which entered production (V260), is now scheduled to exit production (v270) on 7/10. Pushed out yet another week. I don’t get why other cars are being built so much faster.
Wow, that's great. Tough for me to see though. My car entered production 3/9, and was scheduled to end production 7/3 as of last week. I still don't get why my car was so delayed.
I think I see what you’re saying. If you made a figure 8 as you laid the cable down, the middle portion would have more air between the loops. But if you laid it out in a loop and then flipped one side over to make the figure 8, then there would be no benefit.
