Go to another Level 3 charger (e.g EVgo or even some Tesla (Magic Docks)). If Level 3 works OK, issue is EA communications. Likely "solved" by simply going to another site. EA ain't Tesla in charging so you gotta expect some issues....in a couple of months ( ?), Tesla access will improve your...
There's a consensus in this forum that the Porsche chargers are less than good. Perhaps it's time to get another, non-Porsche, charger? I have 2 others (one was free compliments of Porsche and one was half price compliments of my electrical utility). Both work just fine.
If you have a NACS adapter, give it a try..I have one for my KIA EV6 but I test the Tesla locales once in a while with my Taycan (never worked so far EXCEPT at magic docks but ...)
I too have been getting lots of (repeat) notifications. At one point (when "deleting" them, it asked did I want to disable Porsche tips (whatever that is)..I said "yes" and messages appear to have gone away...(wish I knew what I disabled!)
Maybe there is an actual electrical issue. The only time I have had a problem was with a message re: the ground. (aka as "earth")..and upon checking there WAS a problem....
My 2021 has the exact same issue...I checked navigation and it appears to work fine...so we are in the same boat (altho I like "faults" that have no obvious impact!)
Your car normally connects to the internet (as long as signal is strong; unlikely to be strong in an underground garage for example; driving about normally should give you exposure to a strong signal; sim card is Verizon BTW). The car's built in internet connection is what allows you to get OTA...
According to this US document : RCMN-24V732-7161.pdf
Porsche was to release the software update Q1 2025..but I am pretty sure that has not happened.
"Phase 2: The subject vehicles will receive a BMCe software update to be performed at the Porsche Center, which is expected in Q1 2025."
I agree. My (not a NACS port) KIA charges around 50 at Tesla and often approaches 200 or better at EA...but sure nice to have all those SC sites when electrons get low! EA will be my preferred tho and it's still free
Altho my Taycan still will NOT charge at (non magic dock) Tesla SC, I am happy to report that my Kia EV6 now does and it looks to be an official (tho soft) opening!...hopefully Porsche follows quickly but not holding my breath
Edit: KIA officially announced access..so this looks like it will be...
I just tried this for the first time and it is very nice: it simply works! (much easier to use than my OBD reader).
I installed in Windows 11 Pro and it complained and wanted to delay installation until it could do a deeper scan - but ultimately it got installed).
I am looking forward to...
Any half decent programmer can program for routine things. GOOD programmers know how to anticipate out of the ordinary things and program for those exceptions.
Mine ONLY works when I don't want it to work: when I am washing the car and some (unknown but magical) hand action causes it to open!..Amazing how it fails to work when you actually want it to work..oh well
If you tell the Tesla app you have a Taycan, then it causes the Magic dock to present the built in adapter. The only way I could see to use a NACS adapter would be to tell it you have a car that has a built in NACS port. (unless I am missing something..!)
In the KIA EV6 forum some people report success charging...seems to be limited and random..so perhaps limited testing is occurring? Maybe same thing for Taycan?
