When I extended (paid for!) My Porsche (Porsche Connect?), I somehow got free battery charging at the same time....4.5 years free (and counting)(well kinda free $%#!)
I "assumed" the odd cells were because of my small battery: thanks for confirming!..Glad battery looks good and look forward to SOH...many thanks, again, for doing this! The car is a 2021 BTW..so glad such an "old" battery looks so healthy.
Not easy to find 19 inch wheel rims for this car..even Tire Rack does not have them (last time I looked they had 1 wheel - but I needed 4)..still looking!
It's good to see a confirmation of what I have been hoping for: a relatively "normal" long trip w/o frequent problems. Also glad EA seems to be improving (because they are free (at least for me for now)!). Thanks much for the post.
I live on Long Island and am happy to report there are plenty of chargers - esp. EA chargers. It's safe to say you could focus on EA and be safe. There is even at least one Tesla Magic Dock (in Shirley) that I have used.
I find people at charging locales such as EA are usually friendly and I betcha you could ask for help if all else fails. I have found that positioning the car as close as possible to the charger is pretty helpful: it makes using that heavy cable somewhat easier. And, of course, Telsa magic docks...
I got a discount from my dealer by telling them that I was a member of PCA (Porsche Club of America)(which is true but never checked...). That is supposed to get you a 10% discount on just about everything at Porsche dealers and, in my experience, it does.
One option: buy the 2 year CPO extension from Porsche..I was able to do that thru my dealer (I was surprised that I was able to do that but liked the idea of a real factory warranty for 2 more years)
That's probably true altho the 350 amp kia adapter (same for hyundai?) is lesser spec than the 500 amp Lectron and A2Z so you'd be 'crazy" to get one ....
There is an Taycan option for "battery friendly" charging which you may have checked. That slows charging but (wait for it!) is apparently easier on your battery life...In my experience i would be happy to see 200 kw routinely...
I'm not an expert - but consistent reporting indicates that that limit exists until Tesla upgrades their equipment. And, btw, my own testing (on my EV6 using an adapter) is consistently well below 96kw.
This from the EV6 forum today: Just got my NACS to CCS adapter from Lectron this week and...
The available Tesla Superchargers in the US max at 96KW for non-Tesla vehicles using CCS attaching to Tesla via an adapter....my EV6 (800 volts) and Taycan (800 volts) can reach 250 or so at CCS chargers available from Electrify America et al. So speed is not Tesla's advantage in the US - its...
It's been there for several months (I began noticing it when checking for my Kia EV6). Sadly the order of that list seems to be the order of implementation (EV6 ....)..so I am guessing it ain't gonna be June (as promised) and may go late in the year..sorry
