  1. feeling guilty

Current BP price on M6 J20 near me!
  2. Underbody Protection Panel damaged. Batteries and coolant lines need inspection. $72.5K replacement & labor cost. Dealership is Tom Wood in Indiana

^ ^ Agree regarding the - 'fine if no errors' Iirc the earlier member here didnt even know there was any damage underneath. Took it in for a service, underside damage was found >3mm and car was confiscated until full inspection was completed at owners expense. So the dealer is not correct...
  3. China is basically an economic bully at this point. [LOCKED DUE TO VIOLATION OF NO POLITICS RULE]

To be fair they are also starting to sell well in Europe and UK. I see way more new Chinese cars (especially Jaecoo and BYD) than new Tesla's nowadays. Whereas say 4 years ago, there were loads of new Tesla's and only an occasional MG. *Checked the stats for 2025, it's about 5:1 Chinese v Tesla.
  4. Air freshener

I admit to having a bit of a thing for car air fresheners (and aftershave / cologne type stuff....but that's another story 😆) The Rituals ones are quite good with changeable refills, if you find one you like. I am currently on the Oud one and its lasted a really long time...
  5. [opinion] - hmmm…VW/Audi/Porsche may be in trouble…

Thinking more people looking to change cars might now start looking at EVs with all the recent oil price volatility and uncertainty. I know I would be, if I didn't have one already. Life is certainly less stressful being an EV owner at present. If it does pan out that way, where will that...
  6. JayEmm shot on depreciation…

    "It's happening".
  7. Class action filed Sept 25 against Porsche

I agree with you completely. However, if they don't play ball, its ultimately if you decide to pursue things through the courts. Which often means, who has the deepest pockets / blinks first (unfortunately).
  8. Miles per kWh - congratulated for decrease

I can just see the Porsche engineer now in charge of the app. Whatever the figure..... Great! 👌
  9. [opinion] - hmmm…VW/Audi/Porsche may be in trouble…

Auto manufacturing plants are not my field, but I just look at that picture and immediately think there must be a total lack of top down management at that plant. It doesn't even look safe! And I am assuming that's not the official workwear she's got on? Surely, build quality from that plant...
  10. JayEmm shot on depreciation…

Its going to be interesting watching the relevant depreciation / public perception of EV v ICE if there is ever a major shock to global oil supplies and price. Oh wait a minute.....
  11. What's the best alternative to the Taycan?

Worth noting for the OP (and anyone in the UK) to just check your insurance if jumping ship to a Chinese car. News this week.... https://www.evo.co.uk/news/208530/they-might-be-cheap-but-chinese-cars-may-carry-an-expensive-catch-for-uk-buyers
  12. Saw a J1.2 in the wild for the first time

On that note, I did an EV count on a recent local journey to test a suspicion I had...... Making a rough head count of anything with an EV (green) number plate. And I reckon Taycans were actually the most common vehicle driving between Knutsford, Alderley Edge, Wilmslow. I saw about 15 of them...
  13. Best pickup questions J1.2..

Best pickup rejection; Q. "How do you like your eggs in the morning?" A. "Unfertilised" 😁
  14. Keyless entry access

I sold mine a while ago now, so I may have forgotten the exact circumstances why I reverted to the key. I do remember sometimes it wouldn't auto unlock on approach. And I know sometimes I would walk away and see that the screens were still on and it hadn't locked. I resorted to just using the...
  15. Keyless entry access

Personally, I didn't like the Comfort Access when I had my Taycan. It was too unreliable. Sometimes I would walk up to the car and it wouldn't unlock, so I would have to stop and fish round for the keys in my pocket. Or I would walk away and the car ddnt lock. I think I just disabled it...
  16. What's the best alternative to the Taycan?

Thanks for that update Dabz. I am firmly in the pro Phev camp. Mrs has an X1 30e and its an excellent combination for her needs. Loads of pottering about locally (nearly always electric as 40-50 miles range) then monthly long business trips with little time in between (petrol). And any holidays...
  17. How good is your heated steering wheel!?

Maybe they got the wires mixed up for the heated steering wheel and the wireless phone charger? It would explain why the phones get hotter than the core of the sun. 😄
  18. What's the best alternative to the Taycan?

With the added benefit that you may be able to actually buy one in the UK, as opposed to the recommendations being made on here for cars we can't buy. Same issue when talking about dealer waits/loan cars etc. OP is UK based......not US.
  19. CPO - Extended Warranty High Voltage Battery Defect Coverage

Porsche defining normal 'wear and tear' on a battery would be quite interesting. Water ingress? Frequent fast charging? High mileage? Failed modules? Long periods at high charge? Long periods at low charge? I don't see what you can do to a battery really that doesn't come back to it being...
  20. Insurance in UK

We have just had a non-fault claim go through on Admiral under the multi car plan - wifes BMW. Feedback is mixed.... In fact I put a complaint in and it was upheld. It was repaired at a centralised bodywork shop - but using all BMW parts and a lifetime guarantee. The repair looks very good...
