In the UK (where the OP is) you have no option but to use substitutes.
The amount of time waiting to get into the dealers and lack of loan cars means you need to get used to 3rd party transport.
You end up driving your partners car, or whatever loaner the dealers/Enterprise put you in.
If the...
My 2p on Polestar....
Next door neighbour has a Polestar 3.
Its spent months in the dealer with the common water ingress into the wiring loom fault.
He's far from thrilled with it.
And we just had a Polestar 2 loaner for 2 months while the wifes car was being repaired - which I found very...
I ran out of patience also and jumped ship for a BMW i4 M50, 16 months ago.
Only 2 of us, so I don't need anything bigger......in fact one of my biggest issues with the Taycan was the size.
Unsurprisingly, the awful UK dealer experience (with all the cars faults) was my biggest gripe. I...
Admiral remained cheapest for me by some margin at last renewal.
Remember, price creeping is no longer allowed, so you can trust the initial quotes more now......rather than haggling.
Not just the SE, its everywhere.
Lots of issues round here (rural roads) are due to flooding because the council no longer Keep the grids/gullies clear.
Once it floods / freezes the road surface disintegrates and then potholes form.
I sent an email to our council last summer with a picture of...
I am sure if anyone is assigned to monitoring me at China's intelligence agency, they will be enthralled to hear me singing along to Soul music and driving to the shops (again) today.
Possibly even talking to my wife about yesterday's controversial goal at Liverpool v Man City, before going to...
The reason I looked into this was when our next door neighbours elderly father visited and somehow managed to 'miss' their drive and crashed into my wife's car parked on our drive, saying he thought he must have misjudged it.
I confirmed to him that he definitely had misjudged it, but it was...
Unfortunately the stats show this to be very true (see pic).
When I was a young hooligan 😁 people like me were a big problem and struggled with insurance.
At that time everyone's Gran and Grandad used to get the bus.
But now the Baby Boomers (including me) are getting on in years - but...
Looking into this a bit more from a legal viewpoint its all quite interesting.
As mentioned previously, the 8 year / 100k warranty at 70% is mandatory.
The 2026/27 EU battery passport regs will have a big impact.
Also worth noting the secondary market is now starting to get its act...
Let's be honest, if its being leaked that they are thinking about cancelling them, due to costs - and looking at the state of the business, its a done deal.
And yet the landscape could so easily swing back in favour for EV's.
In fact I am certain it will.
All it takes is say an oil shock event...
I think whenever an ICE car driver encounters an EV - they should be forced to stop and stand at the side of the road and applaud as we drive past.
Or even just a simple salute if they haven't got the energy to clap.
Partly because we are saving the planet for their children and grandchildren...
To be fair this thread is in the 'Porsche Taycan versus' section.
Pretty pointless having this section at all if other makes & models can't be discussed.
The 111 point check isn't always all its cracked up to be.......

Its a brave choice on most UK roads going Low or Lowered ride height, once you are aware of the 3mm battery cover achilles heel.
Too many speed bumps etc.
Hence, when I had my Taycan I used to just stick with Normal ride height and Sport chassis with Auto regen.
....especially if these newly announced EU (Greenland) tariffs are relevant to cars and push US prices up.
Not sure if cars have a carve out clause on tariffs? It changes so offen I've given up trying to keep track.
I've no skin in the game as I sold my J1.1 Taycan well over a year ago and moved to BMW.
No doubt for me, the J1.1 is the winner.
I sometimes admire certain Taycans looks while out and about, but its never J1.2 models.
You need to go in pleasant, but very firm on this imo.
Tell them what you want exactly and leave them in no uncertain terms that you will not be palmed off and you will have no problem in escalating things.
They need to be more concerned about what is to come if they don't sort it now.
We have...
