  1. Tesla to open ~20% of U.S. Superchargers to all EV by end of 2024

My concern: the cables on superchargers are pretty short, and designed for Teslas that have their port on the left rear. If I pull a Taycan in nose first, is it going to be possible to reach the DC port on the side? Would I have to park like an absolute jackass to reach? :D
  2. Why do you LOVE your Taycan ?

Had mine (first Porsche!) for barely a week. As others have said - looks great, drives great, everything feels incredibly solid and high quality. I’d seen a zillion reviews and videos so I wasn’t really surprised, but here’s a couple things that I was pleasantly surprised by. 1) When...
  3. February 2023 deliveries

Got my car today. It’s gorgeous: extremely happy with Ice Grey, which I can confirm photos do NOT do it justice. In the flesh it’s quite striking and futuristic, with a clear blue-hue in shadows, while shining almost white in direct light. Took it for a rip down my favorite curvy road. Love it.
  4. Clear Side Marker Lights installed

My amber ones from the factory did bulge out just a smidge for me. I just installed a pair of clear ones today and they also stick out just a little on the wheel side. Not a big deal imo. For me, a T15 fit better.
  5. February 2023 deliveries

Hopping over here from the January thread - my car is ready now, but I can’t grab it til Wednesday, so I’ll technically be a February delivery. ~8 months from deposit to delivery, largely thanks to the 12v shortage and port delays. Not the worst, but not the best either. :D
  6. January 2023 Deliveries

My car is undergoing PDI at my dealer right now. Looks like I may squeeze into January after all!
  7. Loophole in the EV Credit - Lease it!

I’m closing a deal on my car this week. Dealer floated this option but, for me, the math didn’t work out vs. buying. It was basically a wash. I will say that if it looks good for your transaction, I wouldn’t worry about the feds clawing it back. If they do, it’ll be from Porsche, not you...
  8. January 2023 Deliveries

Mine’s been at the port in San Diego since Jan 6. Dealer said a week ago it was released for transport, with no stop sale or missing parts that they could see. Fully expecting the heater to be busted after sitting for 5 months, and I’ll get to wait for that too. edit: switched to “en route to...
  9. January 2023 Deliveries

Just ignore TYD’s estimates. They’re based on nothing, especially anything related to transport. I guarantee your car got off at Jacksonville, TYD often will lag a few days,
  10. January 2023 Deliveries

Seems common for TYD to lag a few days behind when switching from “On Vessel” to next steps. Took around 4 days for me.
  11. January 2023 Deliveries

Port processing does take a little while sometimes. I don’t think you’re in “unusually long” territory yet. My car got off of Courage in San Diego a few days before you, and I’m also showing port processing. I half expected to sit for a few weeks because I specced Bermester. However, my...
  12. GTS Interior vs Vented Seats

I also opted for leather in my GTS - it seems like a pretty common choice, despite the “GTS-ness” of race-tex. Leather has a lot of benefits.
  13. January 2023 Deliveries

My car took about 4 days to show “port processing” after my car’s vessel departed.
  14. January 2023 Deliveries

I was looking here: https://www.pwl.de/en/eportal/schedules--vgm Select US gulf as the trade lane, and choose the carrier to see what schedules have been posted. For some reason the east coast/gulf schedule hasn’t been updated for months. Not sure if there’s another place to find the current...
  15. January 2023 Deliveries

My TYD finally updated this evening to show “Port Processing” after the previously goofy “On Vessel” which had lagged days after the ship had departed San Diego. My dealer claims that he sees no issues or missing parts on his end, so maybe I’ll actually get it this month?! Seems impossible...
  16. January 2023 Deliveries

Yeah, we’ll see. Courage’s position is also updating accurately on my TYD, but it shows dotted lines going up to Benicia and then back down to San Diego again, which seems like nonsense. At this point I’d bet it’ll still say “on vessel” until it shows up at my dealer.
  17. Range reduction after software update

Were your previous miles all downhill? :D
  18. January 2023 Deliveries

Courage has departed San Diego, heading to Benicia now. Hilariously TYD still says I’m “On Vessel”, though I’m sure they didn’t leave without unloading my car. :D
  19. January 2023 Deliveries

Yup, it updated after a few days of saying Benicia first. Very excited that my car is finally reaching the US in a few days. Also, kinda expecting it to be missing its Burmester amp and need to sit stateside for a while. If I actually get it in my driveway this month that’d be awesome.
  20. January 2023 Deliveries

Thats a bummer, but not out of the norm. Mine sat at Emden for almost 2 months (mid Oct arrival, mid Dec pickup).
