Interesting. I guess it’s been a bit of an anomaly that I’ve never paid for gas on loaners before another dealer! Still bugs me that they charged me for more gallons than I could’ve used; I’ll chalk it up to sloppiness than just outright scummy behavior.
I finally brought in my Taycan for a bunch of recalls and at the advice of the service manager, arranged for a loaner in case they had to hold my vehicle if it failed the battery test.
They gave me a base Macan for about 24 hours; after returning the car they actually sent me a bill for $13 of...
I think the whole industry is facing pressure as all the incentives basically pulled forward all the demand for EVs. Anyways the Taycan has been an awesome and I assumed I’d face ridiculous depreciation - I lost 87% when I sold my 335 convertible a few years ago. I know 911s hold value well but...
I am going in for another recall and the dealer requested I bring my old cables in. Does the rebate have to be for a charger purchased after the recall? Or can I claim the one I already have (I bought a Tesla wall connector since day 1 given the warnings here!)
The profile basically tells your car to charge immediately to x% (85% in your example). With the timer, if you set y% in the timer, it will charge to y% at the specified time but does NOT stop charging. I.E- if you set the timer to 7:30am to 85%, it will get to 85% at 7:30 but will keep on...
The OZ wheels look amazing on your CT!
Are all the ride heights lowered to match a GTS? Or just the “lowered”/“low” settings? Interesting to hear that a dealer made the change.
Taycan 4S, Cross Turismo. North NJ.
1) Factory SoH: Unknown
2) Current SoH: 88.9%
3) Current mileage: 2435 miles
4) kWh DC charging: never dc charged (unsure if dealer ever did one but I doubt it!)
5) Build date: Q2/2023, delivered Q2/2023
Surprised by the low SoH! I also drive like a grandma...
I love mine and would buy again. Nothing I’d change about my car but would probably consider PTS more seriously and spring for different wheels. Though I really do like frozen berry and would probably pick a similar color anyways.
I guess it depends what your ice vehicle is but 33 mpg is relatively low gas consumption and similar to a Corolla, Civic etc. A 911 is rated for 18/20 mpg. My own ICE vehicle, a xc90, gets around 21mpg on local highways. Same trip for me on my 4S takes about 2.8mi/kwh.
Precisely this. Economics will drive people to provide solutions especially since there’s no fundamental reason you can’t replace the battery.
I look back to the evolution of mobile phones and batteries, it has gone from mostly a DIY, complicated and/or costly procedure to the present state...
Thanks! I used a Turtle hybrid ceramic product on the car when it was new. Went on very easy and it’s held up very well over the rainy season here in NJ. I’ve only done a few quick waterless washes and maybe one spray down over the 7 months I’ve had the car. I’m sure it doesn’t hold up to...
Agreed. All the other climate and ambient lighting functions they implemented via CarPlay recently is useless when they can’t even put the CarPlay map in the driver display, let alone the HUD.
Porsche is on a roll with the recalls! I don’t use the cable they gave but it won’t hurt to have another. I wonder if it will still be as bulky as the current version.
I would think the way to approach is to measure the all in cost to lease then finance after, tested against a straight finance. If the tax credit on the lease offsets the higher lease rate vs financing, then you get the free option to put the car to Porsche at the residual. If the lease still...
Awesome. Maybe I’ll finally road trip the Taycan in 2025! Though I’m wondering if the queue will be atrocious at Superchargers when it’s fully opened up.
