When reinstalling the new emblem, did you have to re-apply the silicone-like sealant on the nuts? I gather that’s a weather sealant but wasn’t sure what a good replacement would be (a o-ring or some caulking?) or if it’s even necessary to apply (could just leave the old nuts in and tighten...
Don’t worry about depreciation, just enjoy what you like! I love my frozen berry with blackberry two tone interior. It’s far less purple/pink than I imagined.
Many have already chimed in but I’ll throw in my vote for a CT 4S. I use it as the new family hauler for my two kids 11 and 4. I’ve got a balance bike, soccer balls and other random kids stuff permanently in my trunk and still have room for a full grocery run. It’s easy to get the kids buckled...
Seems nice at a glance but there is a card I can’t update on the first page? The one that says to customize via your phone; don’t tell me that’s a permanent label! Other functions generally seem useless or limited value add; would’ve possibly been better if it wasn’t buried in the My Porsche app...
They are definitely discouraging me; they told me upfront they have too many people scheduling the recall. That said - even if I do schedule it, why would I have to leave the car? They could simply defer the date of my service. In any case, my local dealer has been terrible from the day I tried...
My dealer already said they won’t give me my car back if I drop it off before they even do the test, and definitely not going to return it if it fails. A bit ridiculous IMO but now I have to wait for a loaner before I can drop it off.
I find mid cycle refreshes to look bad whenever they materially change the lights. Thinking specifically of the BMW e92, MB w204, and the bug eye GD Impreza (that second facelift was atrocious). I wasn’t a fan of the face lifted first gen Cayenne either.
It probably won’t sway my decision on a...
I just took mine into Englewood and was basically turned away. Apparently they won’t put me in the queue without taking my car and the current queue is 2+ weeks. Further - if a problem with the sealant is detected they won’t release the vehicle and will have to wait for a new battery for which...
My takeaway is that wherever they ordered Chinese food, the place certainly cooks fast. Don’t think I got out of the line yet after 20 minutes at the shake shack in the rest area I visited recently. I would’ve finished charging my Taycan before I got my food!
I have a XC90 as well as we needed a third row to drive the extended family around but I actually think it is a wasteful kind of big. Yes the car is large but it doesn’t translate into usable space. I can’t even carry my daughter’s push tricycle with the canopy unless I take it apart yet our...
I totally subscribe to your philosophy; I’ve also tended to keep my cars for a while so here’s to hoping the Taycan holds up.
I also love your taste in cars. I had a red Corrado VR6 poster on my wall as a kid; still remember the dealer gave it to me when my parents got a Jetta “Pacific”.
Rather superficial observation and might just be the angle of photos but it looks a bit bulbous compared to the Taycan, similar to how the Polestar 2 sits a bit SUV like.
Nonetheless, if this comes in around $100k, it seems like a strong contender . I’d certainly consider it for a Taycan...
Some of it is economy but I feel a big part is the subconscious need to comp to Tesla, as market/opinion leader, who has played up their range (and 0-60) as benchmarks, rightly or wrongly, for EVs.
IMO, I rather have excellent infrastructure and super fast charging than having a massive...
Ah sorry I missed the peak rates part. You’re right I tried to do the same thing earlier but wasn’t able to achieve it (use the timer to start a delayed charge while also stopping at a specific charge level), absent a smart EVSE.
