    BMW I4 M50 test drive

Agree that it’s a relative bargain. Performance wise it’s right on par with a 4S. Idrive is world’s better than PCM. Tons of tech and comfort features. It’s ICE roots are showing though, that high ride height to hide the battery pack, no frunk, small back seat, etc. I can’t imagine it rides as...

    Steering wheel vibration

I had this issue and got a new front motor approved. It’s was a huge job and took almost 8 weeks to diagnose and repair.

    Alarm keeps going off

Anybody ever not able to silence the alarm at all? Double press, disable interior, still goes off instantly once the car is locked? Could not shut it off. I let it sit unlocked for an hour after multiple failed attempts to silence it and it finally locked without alarm. Afraid this will crop...

    DOLOMITE SILVER Taycan Club

I owned a rhodium 981 GTS and florett SQ5 at the same time. Dolomite and rhodium are very similar, I doubt you could pick them apart. Both being a bit darker and having more blue/green than florett. I can offer you two poor photos of rhodium vs florett, they're probably not very helpful but I...

Clear protection film (PPF) on the Taycan?

Like I said, it’s personal preference. I have a car in my garage without it. I could care less what others do, but it’s not snake oil, and it does work.

Clear protection film (PPF) on the Taycan?

Whether or not the fine chips and sandblasting bother you is personal, but you are fooling yourself if you think the paint on a car without PPF is "factory fresh" after 7k miles. My wife's X5 has no PPF and is covered in fine chips and sandblasting after 10k miles. My Taycan is smooth as glass...

Clear protection film (PPF) on the Taycan?

XPEL in years gone by was not optically the clearest/smoothest film. I believe their newer film is better. Last XPEL I had done was in 2019, I forget which version of their film it was, but in comparison STEK dynoshield is much smoother.

Clear protection film (PPF) on the Taycan?

Also very happy with STEK after two Porsche's with XPEL. Way less orange peel, held up better through a NY winter for me. XPEL had multiple tears and some pitting, STEK is still smooth as glass. Also still hydrophobic after almost a year so that hasn't been the hoax that some say it is, it...

Clear protection film (PPF) on the Taycan?

The hood badge is held on with two bolts and comes off in seconds. Any bulk installer will take it off, much better than having seams around it.

    Goodbye for now!

$100k+ cars aren’t the way to go if gas prices are a concern.

Taycan: Buyer be aware or how to go from soul electrified to soul crushed

These cars are not perfect. Knowing this was Porsche's first EV I expected quirks and problems, and the Taycan has delivered. That said, it's still the best car I've ever owned. I'm picking my car up tomorrow (hopefully) after a full front drive unit replacement. 3 weeks to diagnose, over a...

Window trim - black or silver?

Bought my car off the lot with silver trim. Had it wrapped gloss black when I had PPF done. Black looks much better IMO.

Shocking Lease quote from Porsche Usa

Porsche leases have always been bad. Your M8 was probably discounted off MSRP, had a higher residual and lower MF. Simple answer is to buy it unless you need to lease for business purposes.

Is it odd for shop foreman to take my car home?

Very common for foreman to road test by bringing cars home overnight. Ask anyone in the business, they all do it.

My steering wheel did not ship with heating. Can it be added?

It's been done on other Porsche's - usually you have to buy a wheel with the switch and heating element, sometimes a new clockspring as well, and then have to have the dealer program it.
