CT Owners - What are your winter weather impressions?

Sedan not CT, it was 10F this morning here. Car is preheated and toasty when I put my daughter in to head to school. Air suspension smoothes out potholes and messy roads amazingly well, and the all seasons contis did fine all weekend here in the blizzard. Not stopping for gas in freezing...

    Performance Battery worth $5k?

Again, just conjuncture without real world results. Until someone has a slip from a regular battery car, we know nothing.

    Performance Battery worth $5k?

Still waiting to see draggy results or a time slip of a regular battery 4S to prove this theory.

    Launch Control

This is accurate - battery temp matters, and ambient doesn't seem to. It was 19F this morning but I still had launch control available with a 60F battery. The other day with a 40F battery and 32F ambeint I had no launch control.

    Performance Battery worth $5k?

That doesnt appear to be an instrumented test like C&D who ran 11.7 at 120. I'd like proof in the form of real world 1/4 or 60-130. 12.5% more power when not in overboost is significant. Happy to find an empty stretch of road if there are any regular battery owners in my area, for scientific...

    Performance Battery worth $5k?

    For a 4S: 12.5% more power, 7.5% more power in overboost, 14% more range, 3% more weight, 5.3% more cost. Was a no brainer for me. Battery + = 10.2 lb/HP, 8.8 lb/HP in overboost, Regular Battery = 11.1 lb/HP, 9.1 lb/HP in overboost I don't see how the battery + car couldn't be faster in real...

periodic "spongy" brakes. that don't stop. if i die please have my family sue Porsche

How do you expect a potential problem to be solved without diagnosis? If your car really has an issue, state your case clearly to your SA, and let them troubleshoot. This is what service departments do. Ask to ride with a tech if you have to. My dealer had my car for weeks before they...

    Battery decline when parked

Shouldn't be. My car was at the dealer for over a week awaiting diagnosis and SOC didn't change at all unless they touched it. Are you sure they haven't unlocked the car and triggered precool/heat which runs for 5 mins? That could definitly contribute to a 2% SOC drop.

Is the Taycan really exceeding EPA rating?

My 4S+ happens to be at 72% right now haha. Normal + AC. My indicated range was lower for the first thousand or two miles and continued to creep up, I suspect you'll see the same. Definitely lower now in the cold weather, I saw over 300 multiple times in the summer in range mode at 100%.

Is the Taycan really exceeding EPA rating?

I'd reiterate what I have said before in this thread. Focus more on consumption (kWh/100mi, mi/kWh) and less on indicated range. You can always back into the range via the actual consumption. My consumption/range has dropped off drastically in the winter in the NE. My total lifetime is still...

MyPorsche v2.21.50 Build 79 New Taycan Features?

MyPorsche isn't "bad", but it's definitely laggier than Connect for me. I guess the correct term I should have used is latency. I find it similar to the My BMW app, that takes 15-30 seconds to send anything to my X5. Connect is virtually instant for me, everything happens within a second or...

MyPorsche v2.21.50 Build 79 New Taycan Features?

No. One of the main reasons why I’m still using the connect app. I also find the connectivity to be better with connect.

    Check Your Tires!

You sir have an alignment issue.

Does the winter wheel/tire set fit inside the car?

I was able to put my 20" summer tires in my Taycan with the rear seats down. Three in the rear seat area, one in the trunk.

A new reason my Taycan Turbo is STILL in the shop after 2 weeks

That's the problem with servicing these cars at smaller dealers. Not sure where in NY you are, but my dealer on Long Island has multiple Taycan certified techs. All updates I've had have been done within a day.

PPF + Ceramic (brands / dealers)

I got STEK Dynoshield on Long Island for WAY less than what you were quoted. Have had XPEL in the past, no complaints with either, they both do the job. IMO the installer is more important than the brand of film.

    Lemon Law - California

Got it. I took the cash offer on a prior Porsche. I get the sense they really don't like buybacks and will bribe you as much as possible to not go through the process.

    Lemon Law - California

What amount do they offer? The price you paid, or MSRP of the car you bought? Are they able to help secure you an allocation or an inbound car at least? It's not like Taycan's are lining dealers lots these days...

    Backup Camera Quality to Improve?

I got an OTA update for surround view the other day, along with about 10 others. I never had a complaint about the quality, and I honestly can't tell if it changed much, but I have noticed the view where you drag around to do a 360 became much smoother and quicker. YMMV.
