probably a lot of user errors
since I have had to pay for charging and the majority of my road tripping is within Florida, which is fairly well covered by many charging networks, I have been able to avoid the EA nightmares. Here in FL. EA is charging .56 per kwh which I find to be excessive...
since all cars built these days rely heavily on computers to operate I don't see any car that is good for long term ownership. the costs of repair when one of the many systems that are essential fail can be extremely costly. loss of range over time is a minor but concerning issue as well...
FWIW: the residual on my 4s was around $69k, the dealership was very happy to take the car a couple of months early and waive the dispo fees. so they must have believed that there was value in the car.
I think that an impediment to selling any high end, expensive car privately is that there are...
as an economist your omitting the upfront costs of installing a charger is alarming. the costs associated with building out a L3 charging station is quite high.
kwh charges apparently are not based on or include the upfront costs.
I hate to poo on your ad, but a few months ago I tried to sell my similar 4S for a couple of grand more, no takers, and I wound up giving it back to Porsche when the lease terminated. good luck with your sale.
regardless of having RWD or FWD you will only be good driving in snow if you have the proper tires on the car. having snow tires makes a huge difference, all season tires really don't cut it and summer tires are just dangerous in snowy conditions
I don't park the car outside and now reside in Florida without wintery weather, but one issue could be the door handles getting frozen in place.
I have memories of a different car left waterside in sub zero weather and the door mechanism seized up from it freezing.
a rational person would think that they would need to provide the service to the hundreds of thousands of current owners.
maybe in communinst china where the government is heavily subsidizing their domestic auto industry tesla is unable to sell many cars but in the rest of the world tesla is...
I have no issue with tesla not installing addition chargers in NYC for ride share services. if NYC wants to mandate things, NYC can cover the costs to implement their mandates. If ride share companies want to expand their use of EVs they, like the rest of us can assume the costs of installing...
maybe that "stretching" of the concept is what drove him to axe the group.
movie theaters, restaurants, even lounges is not what road trippers want from L3 charging, they want to charge and go.
it could mean that he believes that for the most part his network is pretty well built out and he is now focusing on expanding/maintaining the existing chargers rather than building new locations.
FWIW:
FPL has chargers very close by and the cost is far less.
while the FPL unit is slower it is priced at .30 kwh.
FPL chargers have been very reliable for me.
I have had one software glitch that was corrected with a reboot, it was my first ride after delivery, have had none since.
the range in local traffic is nothing great, it is outstanding at "normal" highway speeds.
my biggest complaint is that I just cannot seem to find the right driving...
when Porsche can offer a taycan with a solid 300 mile plus range and upgrades the software I would come back into the fold.
while I am enjoying my Lucid there is nothing that can top the taycan driving experience.
thank you for relating your experiences.
if you look at the pic the OP posted you can see how he had to block about 3 slots in order to access the charger that he was at.
you might not be aware that the car is already sending data to porsche, regardless of you installing anything. the question should be is porsche randomizing the data collected or is it linking the data to your car. another question is what is porsche doing with the data, are they selling the...
