Very true. When things get bad enough, we (and Sadie the Lab) are most likely climbing in the 4WD F250 PowerStroke diesel and heading out, somewhere, probably with the Airstream in tow. In the meantime, we'll continue to enjoy the many benefits of our solar charged EV's.
I'm not a big fan of pano roofs in general and ordered the aluminum roof instead. With the Taycan in particular, the lack of a sunshade to block out light from the sun, regardless of how effective the glass may or may not be at blocking heat, is a major drawback.
So, if it were me and for some...
I think you probably gave the best possible reply under the circumstances. As George Bernard Shaw once observed, "Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, and the pig enjoys it."
We have the power flap on our e-Tron SUV, and I like the feature. It looks clean, is convenient and has worked well. It was also no extra cost.
That said, I didn't order it on the Taycan. I thought it was overpriced for something that should have been standard and I preferred the clean look of...
No worries. It sounds like you are doing a perfectly acceptable shutdown procedure.
I prefer using the power button because I'm used to shutting off the ignition in an ICE vehicle and because I get immediate, positive feedback that the car is "off". I've had no problems doing it that way. For...
Pressing and holding the power button for 1 second switches the vehicle off and, as far as turning off the car is concerned, produces the same result as putting it in park, setting the parking brake, and locking the doors.
My issue with shutting down the car with the latter method is threefold...
I've not had the same problems yet, but then I don't drive my Taycan on the kind of winter roads that OP apparently must travel.
That said, I did have my front end PPF application extended to the front doors, just in case, which should provide some protection.
That's very cool. I built the Lego GT3 RS (which was a lot of fun) and it's quite clever of you to modify that plan to create your Taycan. Looking forward to see how it turns out. ?
I don't see a need for most owners to do the entire car, just the front facing surfaces that are at risk for flying debris.
And with regard to satin PPF, I'm not a fan. My advice would be to stick with shiny on your beautiful black car.
My notice is dated 12/2 and I received it 12/9. Since my dealer is 45 miles away, I won't be going in anytime soon. I'll wait for some other issue to come up first.
I think that the aluminum roof is a better esthetic choice, especially with lighter colors like my Dolomite Silver 4S, where the pano roof results in a "two-tone" color effect. I also like that it's lighter weight and doesn't cost extra. Some folks prefer the open feeling that the pano roof...
I wouldn't stress over it. Become familiar with your car and its other features, and spend a little time with the App when it's convenient, just to check it out. It has some features that I find useful from time to time but it's not something I constantly depend on. BTW, I have had no problems...
PDCC has very little effect on the ride. In fact, ride should be somewhat improved over normal sway bars since PDCC is basically a dynamically adaptive roll stabilization system that stiffens only when required to prevent chassis sway. Additionally, PDCC provides a measure of security on uneven...
Despite the fact that long-term high speed DC charging is actually detrimental to battery life....
Oh well, at least the fact that this story is getting traction in multiple outlets will likely eventually cause the truth to be revealed. In the meantime, since my 40A Clipper Creek EVSE typically...
Nice build on a 4S. :)
If it were my car, I would opt for the complete Performance package which would add PTV+ and PDCC to what you've already selected and then substitute ACC alone for Innodrive which would result in an overall increase of only about $1500 to your MSRP.
I also think full...
